Drink carts or Drink rails? (1 Viewer)

Hmmm. Cutting out circles with precision might be out of my technical capabilities. I will be getting some PlastiDip for my pick and pluck foam case. Will using that help? I foresee disaster in my future.

I'm thinking something along THESE lines, but rubber somehow? Something to keep water from being absorbed into that fake wood that could make it swell.

I like that a lot. Definitely will look into it for my next drink carts. The holes I have in the carts now fit perfectly with the cups with zero wiggle room. Your right about the swelling, I should take care of it somehow.
I think I like the idea of plastic because of the low coefficient of friction. But then again, I trust your opinion far greater than mine.

Finally got some time to take a couple pictures. I like the wood ones you have better, but I went with the ones I originally posted because they also went with the chairs I already have. Table has a unfinished surface. Dont judge.

Oh, and I have yet to drill the holes for the cup holders so stay tuned.

Those look great! Curious...is it best to orient the tables that way or to spin 180 degrees so it sticks more in between the players?

It’s one thing to see pictures on amazon and something completely different when next to a table and chairs. Those are pretty damn cool! The way it curls around makes me want to get one for each seat! How do you like the base? Super inquisitive to know where you are going to put the cups.
By the way, are you building more poker tables?:watching:

Good question. That will require some experimenting. This at least gives them the option. These tables will actually store under the table in front of them if they wanted, and still be able to hold a can of soda.

Quick eye. I am actually in the process of building a couple tables. I've been working on getting my poker room back in order. New chips (bbo 'mint' ceramic chips should be here this week, few decks of new kem cards, bought new office chairs at a steal of a price (44 chairs at $10 a piece) to replace my chairs and my parents poker chairs. Just need to purchase a couple more big screen lcds and we will be set.

Second image here is my parents poker room. Although it needs to be picked up a bit.

HAHA, for sure. I built those tables nearly 15 years ago when it was the cool thing to do. Little did I know eh? Her poker room was a converted 3 car garage into a nice poker room. Also a summer project while I was in school. I'll snag some pictures before our game tomorrow night.

Wow. Sweet builds!!! (tables and card room both!)

What’s the x mark on the floor for? Is that where you are going to drop an anvil on someone that sucks out on the river?

It’s in my photo studio. That’s where I tell the naked ladies to stand.

Are those wheels hardwood friendly?

I haven’t had any issues thus far. But it looks like this seller removed the product from Amazon. :(

I do wish I got jumbos instead of regular. Would be more useful for every day use.
I used to think the small cup holders were best because they held a beer can or bottle snugly so it could not be accidentally tipped over. But I have since changed my mind and prefer the large cup holders because some players bring drinks to the game in large cups they got from a nearby C-Store.

After a lot research into how to make by hole cut-outs larger, I stumbled on the this. It is a dual arbor or "oops" arbor that will allow your smaller hole saw blade to mounted on the arbor inside the new larger hole saw blade. This will allow you to make the new larger cut-out while being able to keep your hole saw from wandering. Just make sure the threads on your hole saws are the same as the threads on the arbor. Also, this obviously was for my drink carts, not the rail.

Yes, my workshop is a mess.

Wow, those chairs look super comfy. How wide are they though from the outside of one armrest to the other? Just measured that my gasser chairs are 16" wide at their widest point, but my office chair is 25" wide from armrest to armrest. Can you fit 10 people around the table comfortably?

I am with the OP. I never liked the idea of food or drinks on the table. Putting aside the risk of spills, I just don't like the clutter. The first two tables I made have swing out cupholders. This keeps the drinks outside of the rail, and lower down. There is a dual cupholder between every other seat. Of course there are disadvantages to this as well, as it is a fixed location, and may not be where people want their drinks. I have been experimenting with different kinds of drink carts too. You have to have room for them though.
