Quantity over quality: highest PCF chip count (2 Viewers)

Starting a group buy for a PCF commune. All participants are entitled to the reward. Enquirer by pm. :sneaky:

I'm sure nobody beats Larry @pltrgyst (he don't even know how many he got:)

I have:

1. More than I need.
2. More than good sense would dictate.
3. More than I can easily count.
4. Fewer than the threshold whereupon my wife files for divorce.

My best guesstimate is that the StarChips pushed me over 120K, and somehow S/MFRBs keep arriving.

2019 will bring a significant reduction (famous last words), but it seems that all I have that anyone wants is a rack of Highway 9 hundos...

I got my first set in September, 3,540 chips. Just ordered another 210 add on for fractionals. Random 2 racks of clay and ceramics. The sickness is growing, the forum is definitely not helping.

So I guess on a board of collectors theres always going to be these dick wagging threads.

How many? Enough that most of my family considers me a hoarder. I love big sets, I have one set that is closing in on the 10K range.

But who's counting, obviously I'm not (I do but I try not to look at that figure and don't update the spreadsheet as much as I used to). I'd say if I was to put an estimate on it, I'm somewhere between 0 and Larry.

I used to be ashamed to admit I had over 20,000 chips ( Like I had some kind of problem) but around here that's small potatoes. Now I feel like I have a pencil dick.

I'm only at around 25k.

All four of the above are also accurate for me.

BTW when you start cleaning house, I have dibs on the yellow Casablanca $1s. Just sayin'

On the chip-count subject... do any of you guys use birdcage/case log sheets to update/correlate-with your spreadsheets?

What I mean is, I know a lot of us use spreadsheets to keep track of our set counts, breakdowns, etc. But do you also have a "local" logsheet in each case, to keep track of what is in each respective birdcage/case?

I feel like my spreadsheet is good for having a solid overall picture of the collection, but I always feel a bit frustrated not knowing what is exactly in each separate storage container. Curious to know how others address this.

Holy cow, Larry! I had no idea you have such an extensive collection. Sounds like you need to host a game so I can peruse what you have and start making a list of "wants" (y)

I am at roughly 3600, and the main guarantee of keeping the number tame is the lack of storage room. The story of addicted people shows that an empty wallet is no real constraint. They can always beg, steal, go hungry and disregard any other obligation:LOL:
Before joining this forum I never imagined I would spend 4K on anything else than a set of badly needed new shock absorbers which now have to wait:D
5 playable sets, of which 3 cash and 2 tourney. Yes, including the travel set of 400 d* chips.:)

I think I win the booby prize at 2100 chips!

1000 pc Majestic tourney set and 1000 pc Milano cash set with some extras.

I am pretty sure this might be the smallest collection posted here. Not by choice though!

No and Ive had numerous frustrating events of trying to find something I know I own but can’t lay hands on it. Having a spreadsheet count does not equate to being organized. Hunting through a stack of plain white chip boxes can get annoying but occasionally does lead to some happy surprises.
