Abc gifts and awards! (1 Viewer)

I was going to ask if anyone had pictures of their kids they wanted to post (a'la the cancun debacle)... and then I realized how creepy it sounded  :ROFLMAO:

I laughed pretty hard at this. Here's a two headed dog for your effort.

OP, I’m sorry things didn’t go as you intended.

For a moment... just imagine how swamped Gene must have been at the onset of the 8v thread combined with the holiday, concurrent with a deluge of hungry chippers hounding his very existence.

From my own experience with him and ABC, I'd say he did a phenomenal job.

Gene is going through the trouble of buying chips back from members to take care of you. I've offered my greens to him and it will all work out, next time I beg you to handle it 1 on 1 with the vendor before flipping out publicly. I guess some people come here for a quick deal and others come to be part of a great community, but a thread like this in your first 50 posts isn't a good way to become a chip karma blood brother. We stand up for our vendors like family around here. It's a very tight nit hobby and I'd be willing to bet there are not many avid chip collectors who aren't on here.

^^^That!^^^. Nice!

Pcf Community = I don't even know this guy, he bashes one of my favorite vendors which makes me a tad upset and yet I give up on my tourney set chips to help him and Gene work this out. I hope op turns out to be a great member and sticks around.

Someone posting a bad review shouldn’t upset you. It should be accepted whether you agree with it or not. He should be able to post full disclosure on his experience without getting shamed.
There was a trusted vendor who had his own thread provided by pcf and he scammed a bunch of people and took off. I think that might have been before your time.

Ya id be right next to you with a pitch fork in that situation. But Gene is doing the best he can and I feel as if op should have given him a chance before posting a thread with a title like this and calling it the worst business transaction of his life. It's not like he paid for goods and didn't get them. There are also more details to the story than made public. Hopefully when op comes back and sees genes effort to make this right we can close this thread and move on.

I totally agree. If this was me ,what transpired wouldn’t upset me at all. Abc is great to work with and by no means am i saying we should watch out for them.

Sucks that you missed out, but you’ve gotta pay for the order upfront to guarantee clearance stock (really any stock) is pulled and held for you, in any business. After that, you work on the customization and extra labor cost. In all my years managing wholesale operations, I never pulled an order in advance of deposit, full payment or established credit history for any person or account. Especially for flash or clearance sales. Doing so is a waste of time and energy for a busy manufacturer/supplier/warehouse staff, and potentially a loss of revenue.

If you don’t receive a response or invoice immediately, you may have to follow up and express your desire to lock the order up when the sale opens. Sometimes you may still end up having to chalk it up to not being in first, your order not superceding others, the vendor being inundated with volume or stock selling out fast. That’s just the nature of flash sales and clearance like this one.

In this case, it seems you didn’t take the initiative of actually making and completing this transaction fresh on Black Friday like everyone else did. Also seems the connection between your requested stock order and the prior requests for custom art and labeling was not made in time for the start of the sale. It sucks, but it happens, and almost every instance I’ve dealt with could be traced back to a payment not being billed or received upfront.

From this nit, +1 EV for Gene as well. I have worked with him on a couple of projects over the years, always top shelf. Sorry op's experience didn't work out.

I manage an insulation warehouse. We mostly sell to contractors on credit terms but we definitely have cash sales as well. I get people calling all the time wanting stuff then they never show up to pay for it. I have stopped even entering the orders or having them pulled unless they give me a credit card first or they actually show up to get it.

It is a waste of mine and my warehouse persons time when they never show.

I’m not saying this is the same situation, but just giving the perspective of someone that deals with similar circumstances on a regular basis.

I hope it all works out.

I’m not here to say one way or another, but share my experience as another new to the forum individual (and new chipper) who was excited about this deal.

I ordered through pm about 2k chips and labels. Because I was a little overexcited and slightly worried about getting in on the deal, I posted publicly to respectfully ask what the purchase/invoice process looked like. The community immediatey responded with information and added that Gene was takin a day or two for holidays (I had missed that post).

Gene got me the invoice which I paid within a couple minutes and decided to order another 2k chips, paying that invoice within moments as well. He did reach out later to let me know they may have been short on some chips, to which I thought damn, I missed out but I’ll just have to figure out how to restructure my chip denoms. (Also thought I could probably scrounge among this great community for some extras). Instead, Gene responded that he had been able to gather what I hadn’t originally ordered from another chipper.

Despite me both getting my order in and paying for it, I still would have accepted that I may not have gotten all my originally desired chips.
Obviously this isn’t exactly the same as the original thread, and that situation does suck, but I can’t point out a better community than this where users and vendors seem to genuinely care for one another and their shared passion.
This may be a broken branch on one tree of a pristine forest.

I didn’t read the whole thread. But, my experiences with Gene have been excellent. I know he idoing his best to make things right for you

It seems like this happened and the OP was the guy in the grey hat and glasses in the beginning.

I was considering doing them labeled and thought - hell, I am just going to buy them and do the labels later.
To date, I've had nothing but positive experiences with Gene and ABC.
It was a little sad to have to see him vent about the effort that went into just blowing out excess inventory.

I like this guy.

Kids ended up going to my parents when we got home so me and the wife went out. That's why I didn't post back yesterday.
Since yesterday Gene has reached out to me and talked about what happened in more detail and possible resolution to the issues at hand. I can say that he has been more than willing to make things right. Even as far as saying he was trying to hunt down a color of chips he didn't have on hand to fulfill my order. I told him that he doesn't need to go down that road we could compromise on a different color. He seems very genuine in owning that a mistake was made and he is doing everthing within his power to fix it. For that I am thankful.

I really don't know what compels people to post this stuff until the experience is over. Just wait until you know the final say before trashing a vendor. It's totally understandable to be frustrated if he says so sad sucks for you and does nothing about it, but atleast give him a chance to make it right. After it's all said and done let us know what chip colors you werent able to get, the forum is very helpful and the issue will most likely work itself out.

Did i jump the gun on posting this? Possibly. I had contacted him 4 times since he had pm'ed me about the problem with not having several of the chips. I heard nothing back in about 24hrs, not even a little message to set my mind at somewhat of ease. I had checked many of times throughout that period of time to see if I had anything in my pm box and I didn't. But each time I would click on his name and see that he was "engaged in conversation" or "viewing a thread" but I still was without an answer to any of my questions or concerns. I understand that I am not the only customer. I thought maybe he would even shoot me something short. I never recieved anything. At that point is when i pretty much chalked it up as a loss and was not getting any chips since what I thought was neglecting to respond. I thought the timeframe that I gave him to respond was adequate. At that point I was mad/ frustrated/ disappointed. In hind sight, I probably should have waited a little longer to post what I did in this thread.

For all the ones that have posted "you didn't pay for it you shouldn't have any expectations of receiving anything ". Yes I understand to a certain degree of where you are coming from. But if I commit to buying something. And was quoted in saying " let's move forward with buying the chips " and I didn't recieve an invoice although he had my information. I can only assume that it was not necessary at that part of HIS process. Now if he sent me and invoice and I chose not to pay a down payment or full payment whatever he requested. At that point I would assume responsibility of why I wasnt getting what we had a dicussed.

Looks like it is all going to work out and Gene was able to redeem himself with you. Can you pm me how many greens you are looking for? I am sending mine back to him tomorrow at lunch and was only able to fit 170 in a small flat rate. He only asked for 150 back so I assume this is fine, but I can step up to a medium box if he needs 200, he is super busy and I'd rather not bother him further at the moment.

I have not recieved a response from gene in almost 24 hours.
I thought the timeframe that I gave him to respond was adequate.
This is the only thing with which I would dispute. I'm not even a vendor, but I get so many messages via PM that responding to them in the order received may take days. I know that both ABC and Gear (just two vendor examples) receive tons more PMs than I do, and can sometimes take a few days before my message is even read. 24 hours is nothing, and certainly no reason for alarm.

Glad to see all is getting worked out, and likely would have regardless of whether or not this thread was created. Patience is a great virtue, and becoming harder to find in this day of instant gratification and expectation.

Glad to hear that ABC is working things out with you. Only thing I would suggest is updating the first post as well. Anyone finding this thread in the future might find the original post but could miss the update.

@saleen12121 you don't have to send them.i told him I would be willing to compromise and possibly go with a different color for the 25 ncv's.
@CdnBeerLover i already told gene I would delete this after I was able to post that he was resolving the situation and I responded back to several other post. I was on the same page of someone new coming on and only reading the first bit and possibly not using him.

Gene and I already worked it out and I need some chip karma. The greens are already packed up and ready to do, it's no big deal at all. I just need to up the box for 200 or if you need less send as is.

@saleen121212 150 was all that I had needed. Thanks for working with gene to make it happen. It is very much appreciated. I hope the good chip karma that you need, comes your way.

Hey that's what this place is all about. Ordering too many chips that you don't need and helping someone else when they want them, then buying too many more chips with the extra karma.

But each time I would click on his name and see that he was "engaged in conversation" or "viewing a thread"

This only indicates the last thread that was opened may still be opened. If Gene dedicates a tab to PCF (a good idea for a vendor), they will appear to be online, even though they may not be. It was your bad to assume he was ignoring you.
