Thanks for clarifying some of it, but did they lie to Paulson or not ?
Paulson hasn't been a company for around 15 years -- GPI now produces gaming chips and related materials under the Paulson brand (along with several other brands, including but not limited to B&G, Bud Jones, Gemaco, Blue Chip, and Dolphin).
The project participants had no direct contact with GPI, nor did they have any working knowledge of the specific dealings between the two corporations involved. Only the representatives of those companies would know specifically what was discussed and/or communicated, and not surprisingly, none are talking.
So my best guess answer is no. Personally, I had no contact with GPI whatsoever, hence no lies on my part.
One of GPI's policies that is publicly known is that they do not sell chips intended for private use. That "goal" was certainly not in alignment under this deal.
That's not entirely true. They have produced chips for private use in the past (Wynn charity chips and the more recent Colombani chips come to mind, but there are others). I have not seen written documentation, but my understanding of their internal policy is that they will not sell to individuals, regardless of intended use.
Of course not... why would anyone who could buy tons of valuable chips at a minimal price - therefore owning a massive value of chips for fraction of the cost of what they’re worth on the secondary market - ever quit selling and trading in other chips they want when they currently own a goldmine of profit. Anyone who took part in the GB could easily sell off their chips at any point down the road and not go broke from market change. Can’t same the same for those who were the victims of massive sales of other chips immediately prior to the GB becoming public.
I’m sure these massive sales by
@BGinGA had nothing to do with the GB about to become public knowledge....

LOL, and the squid is back.
Pretty common knowledge that those sales were triggered by my need to fund a new $6500 engine for the family van. And I doubt that any of the folks who purchased chips from me consider themselves victims. Apart from making absolutely no sense, your post is still pretty funny.
300k was the number thrown around by a few people across multiple threads and forums. So order was > 300k <10million.
So the question then becomes would they really dismiss a non-casino order even if the buyer(s) were able to prepay 100%? Surely everybody has a number...even GPI. But I'm sure that has been tried.
>300k is correct, but your ceiling number might be on the large side.
As posted elsewhere, multiple times: roughly 95,000
ES chips, 205,000
AS chips, and an unknown number of PS chips (estimated at 15,000 or less), plus 50mm dealer buttons and Paulson chip trays.
Dunno if they have a magic number or not, but yeah, it's been tried. Many times. By many people. Only two successful ventures to my knowledge, and both were private investment projects (not public group buys).
