DONATE HERE: https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/2025-toys-for-tots.138385/
Tommy puts this event together every year, and it really is something special. Let’s make sure the kids feel that too.
Last year was my first Holiday season here on PCF, and I donated privately to the holiday toy fund. I didn’t post “Donated” in the thread, I simply sent an amount directly to Tommy.
He was kind enough to thank me privately. I’ve supported holiday charity efforts like this in the past because I know firsthand what it feels like to grow up without certain things, and I also know how much it means when someone cares enough to give.
But I’ve been thinking about that choice, donating privately, and while my intention was good, I realized something: donating privately might have been a negative EV move for the kids.
When donations are public, they encourage others to join in. This forum proves it every day, one chip sale turns into four, one custom design inspires three more, one mail-call sparks a wave of purchases. Community builds momentum.
For me, the spirt of season has always been peace, goodwill, and the joy of giving. I don’t know a single child who wouldn’t light up from an unexpected gift, and I think many of us here feel the same.
So this year, I’m donating again, but I’m doing it publicly. And I’m posting this in the hope that it inspires even one more person to join in. If that happens, then this entire post was worth writing.
This toy drive represents the best parts of the season: generosity, joy, and making life a little brighter for kids who truly need it.
There is zero shame in any amount.
If $5 is what you can give, it matters.
If $50 is possible, that matters too.
Give what you can, proudly.
We show our community spirit here all year long. We ship chips across the country without hesitation usually at $10 a box (or higher), we buy sets, racks, gear, accessories, sometimes dozens or hundreds of items. Supporting a child’s holiday should feel just as natural.
I’ll be donating, and this time, I’ll do it publicly.
Maybe it makes a difference. Maybe it doesn’t.
But if even one more child gets a gift because of it…
Then it absolutely did.
