Hot Dog Roller Pron (16 Viewers)

How did the corndogs work out? I've been thinking about doing that, but didn't want to muck it up.

We did corndogs at LLM. Worked ok, though if they start frozen, you might want to consider preheating them and then just finishing them on the rollers (or just keep them warm on the rollers). Of course it's possible I'm just super impatient when it comes to corn dogs.

I expect to start seeing hot dog rollers under "Customers who bought this item also bought" when shopping for an ultrasonic cleaner . . .

OK, I am going to take the plunge. Which model should I buy? Sorry, I am sure this has been asked and answered.

I just bought the one Jeff posted earlier.

edit: as an added bonus, the eBay seller's name is "Discount @Tommy".

I sell salad spinners, ultra sonic machines, TSP, and hot dog rollers. Everything a chipper needs. ;)

Used Costco corndogs. Good experience. They have quite a bit of grease in the outside corn meal. Turned up higher and cooked a while. Outside turns crunchy (good), dogs get warm.

Nuking first to defrost dogs would be a good idea. I’ll try that next time. I just cooked for a while to make sure they get hot enough.

Jeff you have a very top shelf hot dog set up there! You get a nacho cheese warmer/dispenser to and we close the thread!

Google Server Model:FSPW-SS

Server is the manufacturer.

New, they are expensive...$3-400
Keep looking on eBay...they come up used for $130-$170.

When you get one, give me a call. I have a lifetime supply of the nacho trays and can split. I think I have 500

The restaurant supply store had a humongo 5 gallon salad spinner and I paused for a second and figured I wasn’t going to be cleaning 1000 chips again. You could get them all done at once!

There are all kinds of different brands...to me they all appear to be the same with a different sticker on them.

Your choices are:
- how many rollers, depth (between 7 and 11). 11 rollers with 3 across = 30 dogs at a time.
- width ... how many dogs you can fit on the roller, some have multiple warming zones (allows to differentiate between cooking vs warming)
- bun warmer or not. This adds quite a bit of height to the machine. The one I have has a separate control for the buns.
- glass cover or not (there is some grease spatter that ends up on the glass, that if you don't have that, will end up on the table or floor around the unit).

I tried those corn dogs, let me know how they work out for you. I microwaved them first, then put them on. The problem was that the sticks in mine weren't completely straight, so they kept getting "caught" and wouldn't rotate. Maybe I had a bad batch.
I’ve used them 3 time and haven’t had that problem. They will travel left or right more than hotdogs, and if they aren’t spaced correctly they will run up against the other corn dogs on the same roller or on the one 1 over. You have to make sure to reposition every so often, or cook fewer. If they move too close together on the same roller slot, they “sword fight” :)
