Sometime later this year I'll be replacing my tired, old Nexgen tourney set with something better.

I don't think I'll be doing CPC customs for these given I'm able to spend 80¢ to $1 per chip at most.

The set needs to seat up to 20 with no rebuys and will have standard 25,100,500,1000,5000 denoms/quantities for T10000 or T15000; thus around 900 chips.

I'm looking at several options such as:

- Semi-custom Valentino or Lucky Dragon from BRPro
- Tangiers or Ceramic Rounders from Old West (which may be in jeopardy given their status)
- Dunes CC from Apache

I was just clicking around and found the Everest Chips on apollon's site and fell in love with them to the point where they'd be my absolute top choice. The problems there are:

1) I think they're all 43mm which I ABSOLUTELY don't want.
2) The apollon order page doesn't seem to have 1000s or 5000s available.

I've inquired with them as to these issues but no response yet.

My questions for here are, does anyone have (or seen) these in 39mm? If not, would Sunfly produce them in that size for a single order of 900'ish chips?

I'd venture to say they would but you would be paying a slightly higher price than the off the shelf price they offer. But this way they could possibly make the denoms you want.
Send them an email and ask.

They are closed now for the week for Tomb Sweeping Day.o_O

I had samples of these. They are 43mm hybrids with a huge label. They didn't handle very well. They didn't sound good either. The rolling edge on these chips are slightly rounded too. I'd order a samples pack from Sun-Fly before committing to a large order.

Never seen them in 39mm. If you really want them in 39mm, I would think SunFly could make them with a smaller label. The samples pack will have the both style 39mm hybrids. (small and large labels)

I'd personally wait for a good group buy of 43mm Sunfly Hybrids to join in on. That or something on the GOCC protech ceramic blank. Both of those are going to hit your price range and will be a good upgrade.

There is the set that @p5woody is working in (All Stars and Mountain Top), or the Burro's Horseshoe tribute that @RainmanTrail is putting together over at CD for Sunfly Hybrids.

There's a possible soon ish dia de los muertos ceramic set that hopefully will go and use the GOCC blanks.

There's bound to be other things that pop up if you are patient.

Still working out the legalities with getting the Old West site and artwork rights. At this point we won't run Salvatore's artwork, but hopefully in the very near future.

Thanks,
Gene

You can't go wrong with the Tangiers either. Contact Gene at @ABC Gifts and Awards and he can probably help you out with those.

What about the new Paulson Elites that Apache is selling? Samples are available to order as well.

This something that's not on their Paulson page? Everything there is out of my price range, and not the denoms I need.

What about these? ;)

The Sunfly hybrids feel and sound great! I think they are an underrated chip, especially for the price. @Quicksilver-75 has made some great templates for those with all sorts of awesome edge spot combos. Pretty much anything you can dream up. Plus they look like clay spots too as he toys with the edge spot lines to make them look realistic, not just super straight sharp lines.

Personally, I think the 43mm hybrids with the smaller inlays are the way to go, or the 39mm if you really really don't want 43mm for whatever reason. But I would avoid the 43mm with the larger inlays, they don't handle or sound as well to me.

I had to look this up... lol.

I had no idea it was an actual state holiday in China.

It's really not that different from "Day of the Dead" type celebrations in many Latin American countries. Familial gatherings at cemeteries and burial parks where your ancestors and other predeceased persons are remembered and their lives celebrated. Tombs, like everything else, need maintenance.
