I really like the design, and most of the color combinations. However, if this is a set designed for sale to the general public, I'd want to see these changes:
This is set designed for my company as a cash game set that can host any game from 5-10 to 500/1000. We also rent out a package with dealer, table and set so we must have a cash set that can handle any private game.
- use two spots on the 100 - I will test it
- use three spots on the 500 - I will test it
- add two more blue spots on the 10.000, or dump this rather useless chip altogether - Maybe it is wrong but in 100/200 game here in Iceland the clubs use 100-500-1000-5000-10000-25000 so the 10.000 is something that players are used to having. Do you think no matter what stakes are being played this is always a useless chip ?
- the three highest denoms (10.000 and higher) need to be the same size. Chips in four different sizes (plus plaques) is just a really bad idea in practice. When you say it, then maybe it is better to have the 10.000 and 25.000 the same size. I really like to have the highest chips a little bigger and the plaque will most likely have no other job than to showcase as it will probable never hit the felt.
- convert the blue 50 chip to a 1 denomination and convert the pink 250 chip to a .25 denomination, both of which will be desireable. As-is, both chips have extremely limited value. As this is a cash game set in Icelandic Krónur I think this is inrelevant
I really like the blue/brown/white colors/spots on the 5.000 and the 10.000 chips, but not both together in the same set. Both chips share the same colors, and as such they actually detract from one another rather than enhance -- especially when adjacent in the lineup and in play together.
Fair point, maybe we should drop the 10k or have the 5k with red spots.
And....
You don't need a 50 chip for a 50/100 game. The 25 chip works just fine.
I know everybody here, me included like more chips in play, but why not have the 50 chip for 50/100 when that is a pretty common stake for my homegame and a popular stake in Iceland.
What are you using for the small blind (actual sb amount and chip denominations used) in your 250/500 limit game? The big blind and the fixed bet amounts pre-flop and flop are all 250 (with 500 turn and river bets). Planning on using five 25 chips to post a 125 small blind? Or is it really a 500/1000 limit game?
