I need help choosing the base color of my CPC quarters. For those following the design thread HERE, you'll know I was back and forth over the color of the $5 chip (Tiger vs. Retro Red), which very much dictated the colors available to use in my quarter.

After much deliberation, and much desire for the Tiger color's inclusion in my Fat Tire cash set, I finally decided on using a Retro Red base color for my $5 chip. As much as I love the Tiger color, I think the Retro Red matches truer to feel of my set's inspiration, the FT Neon Sign.

Here's a photo of a comparison why I think "retro red" fits best.

Here are the samples of the chips being proposed:

Here's some of the proposed mockups of my design, just to give you an idea of the entire set's feel and makeup.

DG Green! Although Peach was looking good too, but may get confused with the red in poor light? or my eyes are playing tricks on me.

Edit: the Canary might go better with your neon sign though!

I'd be a little worried about using retro green next to peacock.

Suggestion: How about using option 3 above but switching to a canary base quarter and using peach for the spot on the dollar (replacing the current canary spot)? And then using dg pink instead of white on the hundo?

Looking good either way man!

I voted other, I like the canary best of the options you provided, but I prefer the DG Yellow (and its unweighted so it fits in with the other colors aside from the charcoal).

Your colors are going to be fairly similar to my base colors if you go canary which is what I voted for.

My quarter is white, 1 is imperial blue, 5 is retro red, and 20 is canary.

As it stands I'm in for canary as well!

If I were to go for 'pop' and 'neon': dayglo saturn could be a bold option. In a vacuum these base colors would shout 'from toys to tools" to me but loose the strong connection to the neon sign.

Thanks @Ray-Col for the very cool rendering!!!! I saw your work in another thread, and didn't think my set was worthy of your talents. :)

Yeah, that messes me up each time, because I'm like, "what!?!...These are already done?"

Totally blurs the line of reality.

I voted for canary as it completes the colors of your sign.

You're welcome!

I'm in the beta status of "mock ups for the masses" and your set has it all: mixed dayglos with weighted and unweighted colors, shaped inlay - just the worst for a lazy guy like me. ;)
Honestly, I admire your tourney set since first sight and the cash extension doesn't fall short.

Here's a more table-like lighting where the canary pops more because of the incandescent light warmth.

Thank you for the warm compliments. The latest rendering looks amazing! Due to finances, I need to hold off on this order for a few more months. However, seeing it rendered like this will ensure it's my next set of chips... that I can talk about :)

This set will be so bad ass... Makes me want to sell my Benny's right now to fund it... (my inner Yoda voice says...)

@Ray-Col ... mad skills.

Eric...Looks great! It works well how you have it, but I also like this set as blue as .25c, white $1, red $5, canary $20.

just me trying to be different... yadda yadda...

I thought about this too. However, I have a set with a blue quarter, white dollar, etc.. And those colors aren't bad, but...

Customs should be whatever you want them to be. This set will be terrific! I really like the white chip and I think the cog inlay is awesome!

I get it. But I also understand that getting feedback on what colors work and what colors don't is really important to me.

That said, it came down to these two color choice patterns for my main workhorse chips.

I feel like the bottom image more represents the neon sign
