Last year I did a huge giveaway contest in which we the community gave away about $500-700 in prizes. I can't justify doing that again, but since it seemed to be popular I was thinking about trying it again for 2026 as a paid contest.

Information about last year's contest:

How does Fantasy WSOP work?

Similarly to any fantasy contest, you select players and receive points based on statistical accomplishments.

There are 100 players to choose from placed into 10 tiers. You will choose only one player from each tier and receive points every time that player cashes in an event. There are also bonus questions which will award points if answered correctly.

At the end of the WSOP, the participant with the highest total score among their 10 players and bonus points wins the contest.

Scoring

Since I do not have the time/energy to compile scoring myself, scores will be based on the 2025 25K Fantasy Player of the Year (POY Score).

Note: if for whatever reason a player on my list is not available in the 25K Fantasy pool, they will be replaced with a comparable player of my choosing. You will not have the option to re-select due to time crunch and logistics.

Payout

All money collected will go towards the pool. Payout will depend on interest, but my current plan is 50% for first, 30% for second, and 20% for third.

Prizes

On top of the money prize pool, I will also include some WSOP related prizes. I will also accept any WSOP related donations as well. Prizes will be limited to USA/Canada members for now because of shipping issues I am having outside of the US.

Interest

If there is enough general interest to make it worth running, I will put together a google form for everyone to fill out.

I would be interested as long as there are at least 5 women in the list of 100. I’d specifically like to see Kristen Foxen, Maria Konnikova. Leo Margret’s, Annette oberstad (if she plays), G Bowman, Maria Ho.

In. This was a lot fun last year. Happy to contribute a prize as well, Ben.

Im in Ben!
Even though I was I think second to last place last year. Lol
