You can’t be happy no matter what a car dealer did I imagine lol

The dealer followed the process outlined by the manufacture. Throttle body cleaning, if problems persist, engine replacement. And that’s exactly what they did and he’s getting a replacement value in check. I could argue he’s actually not owed the $ for the throttle body cleaning tbh…the dealer had to pay their mechanic, rent, equipment and such to perform such service that yielded a favorable resolution for the customer.

Fair enough on my existing bias. I don't think I could credibly pretend otherwise.

You're appreciated. I'm annoyed but my situation is different, I have to be happy with the warranty buyback. I'll head in to the dealership to get my stuff out of the car, but as someone who wants nothing to do with this dealership I don't have damages to report over that buyback cost. If lawyers and scrutiny gets involved, I assume the "very good" rating for my car may drop lol.

I'm still driving their loaner so can't complain about that. I appreciate your perspective, I've been lucky and it hasn't been a fist fight. Not going to celebrate until the check is in my hand, though.

I personally would not wait that long. That to me, is poor taste on your behalf. I would call them and have that conversation, or at least acknowledge that conversation up front. And if they want to discuss it in person, discuss it in person, but I would not let time go by with them feeling like you're just gonna pay the bill when you show up. I would make your intentions very clear, and while you still have their loner, as leverage

Fair enough. I've said my piece. My only other advice would be. Don't bow at what you think is good enough. You have a right to be compensated for anything and everything you've been inconvenienced by and whatever this dealership did or didn't do that caused this to happen to your car. Just don't accept the bare minimum. Because that's what they're gonna throw at you.

Fwiw as well, my displeasure has not been with the current dealership I'm working with. They've been great. I do however have a problem with Ford MoCo, and that is where my lawyer is involved. The dealership knows this

Love unhappy customers/potential customers.

Always asked for them. Someone having a good day, I’m never going to have the same potential impact on their day or experience as someone having a horrid day.

That being said, I’d prefer to never deal with a poker player. Dreadful transactional folks I hear.

Edit: it’s too bad you guys sold. Dentists, vets, everyone has sold to PE. You know if your parent buyer was backed by PE or giant conglomerate?

Can confirm, but she always starts and goes.

I was a Honda fan, until my last one I bought new. Transmission went out at 87k and Honda said that was normal and on me. Hondas are out IMO
