I've looked around the site many times and finally decided to make an account.
I'm an international student at a college in Upstate NY, and play at Turning Stone whenever I can. If you've played there in the past couple of years, you've probably played with me - there aren't too many English college kids there.

Let me know if any of yous are coming up for the ring events.

Welcome! My oldest goes to Syracuse so I always try to go to either Turning Point or del Lago. So far, I've been up there 6 times and haven't gone once lol.

I hope you mean Turning Stone! Not the best poker room. The rake changed recently, and the promos got worse: no rollovers on high hands, the progressive high hands got capped, and the Bad Beat Jackpot is the worst one I've ever seen (lose with quad 10s or better). The 1/2 is soft, but very nitty.

I haven't played there. I'm an international student so I have to rely on my friend to drive me. We're only 35 mins from Turning Stone, but 1h40m from Del Lago. I only ever hear people moaning about Del Lago at the tables at TS though.

One of these days I'll make it to one of them lol. That's my same situation when I go up there. Turning Stone is 30-35 minutes from the university whereas del Lago will be a 45 minute to an hour drive.

I think poker will be better at the Rock, but I'm not sure about table games if you're into that. I also have no idea what the food options are like at Del Lago. The WSOP circuit is at TS March 12-23 if you fancy playing in a ring event.

The only place I ever heard "yous" used was in NYC when I lived there 25 years ago. I've never even heard it in Upstate, and I summer there every year. Well done!

Just seeing your post today! What college? Different regions of NY have different definitions of “upstate”. For example, nyc dwellers think upstate means Westchester county while those of us in Rochester think we live in upstate NY! I’d you are in my upstate NY check out my league!
