CPC Move Updates (41 Viewers)

One was a member group buy with great track record.

The other is a for profit business and an unknown vendor with easily $100k payments made by members and a business valued probably around $250K?

Not remotely the same thing lol

And yeah Oscar fucked up and fumbled. But not even in the same stratosphere lol

I do give him good odds on getting things going, communication was a little thin and stated targets were optimistic. I can’t wait to see the next sets come out so we can shut the hell up.

Last update with timing was on 1/1 and said “best guess is that we'll be operational in around 30 days” but no updates since then.
Not exactly correct. In the 1/1/26 email, prior to giving that best guess, he also said "I hate giving out updates and guesstimates while too much of it is out of my control."
beyond the generic “should be up and running in about 30 days.”
But you're still misquoting him. At no point did he say he “should be up and running in about 30 days.”
Maybe communications happen about orders outside of the forum?

I have seen that and still question your interpretation.
Sometimes people ask me, Barrie, why do you randomly come back to PCF and post a litany of memes and gifs for giggles?

And to them I answer, "Would you rather listen to GolfNPoker continually argue over whether 'we'll be operational in around 30 days' can be interpreted as 'should be up and running in about 30 days'?" :ROFLMAO:

I mean, I can color the examples too.

One was a member who had repeated issues with other sales as well throughout the year but everyones too afraid to leave real feedback because of Stans and backlash.

Who, by the way, closed the thread without ever actually answering, closed the thread without it coming to conclusion, and still as of this month has mentioned potentially running more GBs.

The other is an off forum fan and enthusiast with his own custom sets who stepped in when noone else would and put his livelihood and money on the line to continue our only ability for compressed clay.

Not remotely the same thing fo sho.

(not "against" okku, I'm just always confused by PCF's moving targets on what's right/wrong)

I don’t even know what you’re arguing at this point. They both fucked up. I think you just proved my point?

I don’t even know what you’re arguing at this point. They both r fucking up. Sure lol. One way worse than the other.
Nothing to argue, just have a sleeping dog on my lap, don't answer emails from mobile, and posting memes and gifs. Thought it would get some fun sh*tposting going, but pcf is struggling lately in the entertainment category.

Figure it's gotta be at least equally productive as the nonsense posts in here.

I need to go answer all the pms for the cut cards we were gonna order after anyways. (Nothing to do with other gbs, just need to clean up my own stuff)

When you're right you're right. But the bolded text is 100% false.

Not exactly correct. In the 1/1/26 email, prior to giving that best guess, he also said "I hate giving out updates and guesstimates while too much of it is out of my control."

Then there was another update on the CPC home page on 1/15/26. This one does not specifically state the "around 30 days" which by that time would only be 15 days. So obviously he was overly optimistic on 1/1.

I understand being frustrated waiting. I understand being frustrated over the lack of communication. Yes, he should take 15 minutes and post a new update on the home page, or here on PCF. But does anyone really think they're going to lose their money here? He's going to get this started up at some point, and you'll eventually get your chips. No way he made this investment in buying the company and moving it across the country just to rip-off a few of you guys off for a couple (many?) thousand bucks each.
i also do not get the anger and frustration... i mean it took them a YEAR just to move everything across the country these things take TIME, and the way everyone is getting so mad here i can see WHY mike doesn't even want to GIVE updates because everyone gets so mad at him.. that he is not OPERATING now Now NOW....

i personally think everyone should just BE THANKFUL that the previous owners didn't just shut the whole place down, auction everything off and CPC disappeared forever... but that's me i don't know *shrugs* i was just super excited because a saw a post saying they were planning 5 new colors and 2 new edge spots...

and then i make a post and start up all of THIS rats nest...

We found Mike’s burner account lol

Mike, thanks for the reply. Please call your landlord tomorrow and push on the plumbing situation, but also email him so we have receipts. Then let me know his cell number and I will call him to force the plumbing issue because you likely did not push hard enough.

Please provide an update tomorrow on the plumbing regardless so I can tell you how your approach is wrong.
You show that turd who’s boss!

Spragg, the moment CPC Mike signed on the dotted line:

View attachment 1649565

spragg is a fucking saint. i annoyed that man with what seemed excessive, but in hindsight i assume was a trivial amount of emails compared to what others here are capable of - but he answered within a day every single time. perhaps that level of commitment to customer service burns someone out.

also what the hell did you do to piss so many people off here? holy hell, the sheer volume of cryptic shade thrown your way.

Folks bought a product with the understanding that it would be manufactured in the original factory by the original owner before whatever the next phase of the company began. It's not unreasonable to be frustrated when all of these terms have been changed after the company had been floated the money for a considerable period of time. If, from the jump, the arrangement had been "pay for chips from a new owner who intends to move production to a different state and you will receive them at some point", the expectations would have been tempered.

Just my two cents, as that's about what it's worth here, but:

It really sucks that this has turned so negative. I always remind myself that while the concern is genuine, there are always a few people who like to stir the pot.

When CPC Mike said he was moving the equipment across the country, I assumed production would be halted until mid-2026. Maybe Fall, 2026 or even into 2027. This was my assumption from the beginning. I have no inside information and haven't had any contact at all with Mike.

Things just always take much longer than we always think. Always. (My wife and I added a deck to our house, 32' x 12' with a screen porch. The contractor started in May and said it would be done in September. He was right about the month, but wrong about the year. It was done in September, 16 months after it started. And it was right in my backyard, not in Washington State.

Bad things happen sooner than expected. Anything you hope to happen always takes longer than expected.

So someone bought Classic Poker Chips and wants to make chips. The alternative was that Classic would have shut down, which would have meant an end to custom clay chips. I'm glad someone bought the company and wants to reopen it. I wish there was some way we could help.

I'm glad Mike posted an update today. To me, the scariest word he used in today's update was "landlord." "Landlord" means "rent" and regular rent increases that need to be factored into the price of chips. I was kinda hoping Mike was a landlord and owned the factory space. That was Jim Blanchard's situation, and a big part of how he could afford to give quantity discounts. He didn't have a landlord. He was the landlord.

I'm still hoping for the best for Classic, for Mike and anybody involved. If we want the option of good clay chips, we need the business to open and succeed.

There was other buyers and other alternatives. We gotta stop acting like he was the CPC savior lol

Of course we are glad he bought it. CPC is a staple to the chipping hobby and community.

But that doesn’t excuse his absence on PCF, and condescending replies.

IT’S OUT OF MY CONTROL. Huh? It’s all in his control. He decided to move it before finishing previous jobs. He decided to rent instead of buying a site location. He is the one in a disagreement with his landlord (by the way, no need to share specifics with us, to me that was also a mistake).

“I. have more money invested than everyone combined” is so deaf tone.

Just some nice updates here and there. Customers put money down for much longer than they anticipated to terms they didn’t agree to. Jobs were to be finished before moving. That’s THE only reason you’re getting blowback.

It’s a forum. There’s gonna be a lot of chatter here and you need to have thick skin and self awareness. But I can tell most everyone is annoyed with me :-)

Dear @CPC_Mike,

If you ever get operational again I have a HOT TIP for you.

Make a yellow that EVERYONE loves plus a few extra colours. Add some new spot patterns and I can assure you that all this angst from the current clusterfuck will all be forgiven and most likely forgotten.

The fiends are fiending and need their fix tout suite!

Barrie needs to learn to be more careful his assumptions. Second time today this assumption. Hmmmm.
When you're right you're right. But the bolded text is 100% false.
Google “color commentary”. I literally said at the top of the comment:
I mean, I can color the examples too.
I was proving a point by provided subjective, slanted commentary meant to color each example in a negative and positive light.

I’m cool with being obtuse, but at least include a cutesy meme or something with it!

I see we have another guy who doesn't understand context and cherry picks part of a quote while ignoring the previous two sentences.

"I hate giving out updates and guesstimates while too much of it is out of my control. But we're getting close now. My best guess is that we'll be operational in around 30 days."

An Optimistic guess, and "we should be up and running" do not imply the same level of certainty. Especially when you exclude the previous context.

You wrote 48 paragraphs arguing interpretation of a sentence.

The ram on my broke 8 year old laptop couldn't handle quoting the entirety of your posts.

(a lot of tone is lost in online posts, my previous post was joking, as is this one. but for real for real, it's a joke cause ain't no way I'm reading y'alls whole back and forth  :ROFLMAO:)

I guess that's why you missed me saying let's let it go. Until you brought it back up again. :ROFLMAO:
