What is MSRP? Some guys in a local bourbon group were talking about it and said it was okay but overpriced..
I don't recall exactly at this point. It's been long enough and sufficient amounts of whisky which don't help. Maybe at $100, maybe just under.

(I have a cap of around $100 for a bottle partly because I'm a cheapskate, but partly because I don't have the palate to tell me a $200 bottle is better than a $100 bottle).

Ouch! Better be damned good at that price. I'll be passing.

I'm enjoying it enough that I'm no longer worried about the price. That said, and as I think more it might have been $70 and with a limited number why they were disappearing that quickly.

My local bottle shop usually has very competitive prices especially when I see what folks here are paying for some of the bottles I can get. I'm lucky and a bit spoiled that way.

Made Bourbon Vanilla Extract today as Christmas gifts. Wish I had thought to make it 6 months ago. Waiting is gonna be hard!

And of course I had to taste the bourbon first. Honestly, for cheap whiskey, this ain't half bad!

Sippin on an Old Ezra BS bourbon. I forgot how good this one is. Anyway, a question....

My wife usually puts Grand Marnier and bourbon in the cranberry sauce (among several spices). Does anyone else here do this? If so, what bourbon do you prefer?

Question - a hypothetical one …not based on reality at all.

If you didnt finish the last pour from the previous night - and find it the next morning - when is the appropriate time to finish it?

As soon as you see it - remove the shame and evidence immediately?
Wait for lunch?
Trash it? 🤣

First thing. It pairs well with a breakfast sandwich.

Never ever ever throw it away.

I make a cranberry bourbon drink with homemade cranberry sauce. It's pretty damn amazing.

Depends on the pour...

I've never had the 18. Or at least I don't think I have. I love the 12.
PC18 is probably the best whisky I’ve had this year. I missed out on the 2024 release but lucked out finding a 2025 early January. I had plenty of opportunity to grab a second one for the bunker but I dragged my feet and they were gone.

The 10yr was my introduction to Islay/heavy peated whisky and it’s still my go-to everyday bottle. Love it too!

PC18 last year and this year are two of my favorite scotches ever. I tracked down a second of each bottle and bunkered it for a rainy day.

I made a batch last year and it turned out great so doing another one this year. Feels good to stick it to big vanilla, even if I work about half a mile from big vanilla’s spice factory.

FWIW I did slice the beans open before putting them in the bottle and that seemed to work really well, although I did strain the end product.

So, I was today years old when I learned that vanilla extract is made with alcohol…

Yes, absolutely slit each bean down the middle before putting them in the bottle. And I also cut a few of them in half.
