It seems lately marketplace on PCF is turning into Facebook marketplace.

This is generally with new members but the amount of flakey buyers has increased dramatically, at least for me anyways.

I literally had my most recent sale boxed up and ready to ship only to receive a last minute flakey excuse.

I expect this on FB marketplace and understand circumstances change but man is it frustrating

Rant over

Sucks. But it happens sometimes. People get sick and need to pay off hospital deductibles. People lose their jobs and lose their disposable income.

Having it happen once to you is unlucky. More than that is a trend.

Totally agree but I wouldn’t post if it’s only happened the one time. This has happened multiple times with this sale alone

I’m having the opposite problem. Making a purchase and being ghosted for days or a week. Having PMs completely ignored. I’ll never understand how someone has the time to list an item and make a sale, but can’t be bothered to ship or make any form of contact for days or a week after taking money. A few days is one thing and life happens…but like your situation, this isn’t a one time thing. It’s multiple transactions lately.

I think your situation would be even more frustrating than my original post.

Name and shame. I always advise when I'll be able to ship an item. Even if I close a sale early in the week and can't box and ship till the weekend, I ask the buyer if it is ok.

It’s almost as though….you/we should use the feedback tool!

All of these threads are meaningless (including mine).

“So and so didn’t ship” “so and so didn’t buy” “so and so sold his chips to Bob instead of me”

Leave. Nonpositive. Feedback.

We’ve had 5 people recently disappear or poorly perform in sales/purchases? 2 group buys go horridly?

Yet, the feedback for all involved is…..100% Positive.

I’ve left negative feedback before and fully intend on doing so, again. Shaming someone publicly while they hold my money and I have zero recourse is just asking for more trouble. I’m still hoping for a reasonable outcome, but either way…the feedback will definitely indicate taking their sweet ass time on shipping while providing zero communication. I would certainly expect negative feedback, if the situation was reversed, at the very least. Of course, it never would be. I pay within seconds of getting payment information and ship the same day every single time. I DM pics of the packing, along with tracking information, usually within hours of payment receipt. But, I treat people how I’d like to be treated. Pretty simple if you just follow that simple philosophy. Not just chipping. In life.

If you don’t have time to ship and/or communicate, maybe you shouldn’t take the time to place an ad. 🤷‍♂️

I understand what you're saying.

If it's someone here is well known, if they ever want to do business here again, they'll do the right thing, regardless of whether you keep quiet or out them. The angry pitchfork mob will get to them one way or another.

I think many members ship quickly, and when we encounter someone who doesn't, it puts us on tilt a bit. "A shipping label has been created" followed by "we havent received the package yet" for 3 days sucks the most. The no communication from your seller is probably the worst.
