What are the best plastic cards money can buy? (3 Viewers)

Managed to find some KEM Arrow bridge decks on eBay for a decent price in great shape. Hands down the nicest feeling I have played. $75 new off eBay was a bit steep, so glad I could fine some used.

I haven't noticed warping yet. Will have to keep an eye out as they get played more.

My vote is for Copag. Started with KEMs 20 years ago. I never had an issue with warped cards, but I had more than one deck of KEMs chip on the corners.
Copags always seemed bulletproof and would last until the ink started to get worn. Good value too.

After using Copag for a long time and then Da Vinci (which I still really like), I've recently switched to a newer brand, Gutshot (also sold as Triton, not to be confused with the Triton poker series). Textured back and smooth face. A pleasure to play with. $18 per setup on Amazon, or $10/setup if you buy four setups.

They have that cheap PVC smell that I can't get past. I wanted to like them so badly because their distribution center is just a few minutes drive away from me, but I sold then within days of getting them.

Interesting — I didn't notice any smell.

There is a lot of personal preference in this question … poker/bridge size, jumbo/standard index, smooth/textured, amount of flex, art/design on backs and on faces, font, design/clarity of suit (particularly if clubs/spades are easily distinguishable). I find it interesting that some of the cards are brighter white vs slightly yellow on some. I don’t love when the suit sits really low on the card which makes you have to bend it more to see it.

As a poker/jumbo/smooth card fan I think Fournier EPT are the best. Gemaco Superflex are very similar for me, but I haven’t found in jumbo index.

The pics below are from some of the many decks I bought to try out … before I got the EPT’s.

This was a great pic - thanks - really shows the different styles well.

Wanted to know which was which and now I have that I thought I'd may a well annotate for others who may be as clueless as me. I hope I got them right :)

Lots to take in and try.

How about for four colour decks?

I recently bought some Trillion cards from Japan and distributed them among a few of the locals. They are Bridge size, Jumbo index, 100% plastic, and 4 Colour. I like them. They come in 9 different colour backs, so you can choose all sorts of setup colours. If people are interested I may try to do a group buy in August.

KEM remains the gold standard for me. With proper storage I haven’t experienced any warping issues in the past few years.

That said, from a value perspective, KEM have priced themselves out of the market at $50+ per setup.

Very different than KEM, but I’m a big fan of the Faded Spade 4 Colour (previous version). Haven’t tried the new FSX version (or whatever it’s called). From a pure design perspective, FS is hands-down my favourite.

I LOVED 4 Faded Spade 4 Color decks, but they were just to slippery for a number of our Player's who dealt.

And their design is beauty!

I'm looking to host a game soon and while I can't afford a set of Paulsons yet I figure I can get some nice cards.

Lately I've been playing with some broken arrows and they are fine but man they get dirty quick.
I have a bunch of decks from theory 11, are they not an option?

I’m another Copag fan, never let me down. Although, I did recently pick up some cheap Fournier cards - bridge size, and they have impressed me. Slight matte texture but riffle shuffles are slick and smooth!

I missed this post, but you did get them all right.

2012 wsop cards?

Hi there, I personally would be very interested in a group buy!

Get in on what is basically a group buy with one of our vendors for cards on highly rated Fournier stock. Cannot go wrong and we are super close to locking this one down. Get your orders in. Let's go people!

I think my only caveat with the Desjgns I got was that you should use it as soon as possible and not store them for longer than a year or two. I had texture issues with decks I opened after more than 2 years in decently dry but non-hermetic storage.

What issues? I have one of the earlier versions of his cards that has more texture and agree it does not slide great on felt, but it was not made with Fournier stock (forgot which stock it was). Fournier stock should be fantastic. One of his earlier iterations on Fournier are some of my favorite cards and I think they were made circa 2012 or something. If that is the issue I think it has much more to do with the cardstock than aging.

Cant wait for new Desjgns, perfect index size and Fournier stock combined...

This is the way ^^^

Me and over 100 others agree and are on board with @desjgn ’s Kickstarter. For us, blackjack index and Fournier as the manufacturer are the cherries on top of already great cards.

I've had to wash Desjgns brand new out of box. They're great, love the texture and snap but there was an odd residue on 2 separate setups I've had. Slid much better after a light wash. Unsure if that's specifically what he meant but they slid much better for me after cleaning.

I've used Davinci, Copag, Desjgn and Angels[not the club one], and copags/desjgn sets seem to get the most love at my sessions. Honestly curious at this point about KEM Arrows but the pricing for those are so ridiculous its really hard to justify getting a set

I love the look of Desjgns but thought the texture was way too much. The cards wouldn’t slide across the table at all. They almost defied physics how quickly they would stop. Like velcro. I haven’t used them much and never noticed a residue but after I saw this post I decided to try washing them. Now they slide like normal cards! I am amazed. Like I discovered a whole new set of cards. When everybody else was raving about Desjgns I thought they must just like the texture/not sliding on the table. I was excited to get in on their pre-order because they are going to be printed by Fournier, which are my favorite feeling cards. Now I am excited to use all of the old Desjgns that I have. Appreciate the cleaning tip.

No problem. Unsure if its a pre-sale storage issue or cutting or what, but glad the rinse worked. Annoying extra step but they're worth it for me.
