Elijah Craig was my first glass of bourbon ever. I still love it and buy it occasionally!

Yeah, first taste of BT and I thought for a moment I might have over-diluted before I remembered I was sipping neat. And it was even thinner in an old fashioned. Guy at liquor store said they had a line starting at 5am (!!!) for a new BT shipment and they were down to their last 2 cases when I walked in. I was expecting my socks to be blown off given the hype.

WT 101 and Rittenhouse will remain my respective well bourbon and rye for now. Good neat. Good on the rocks. Hold up well in cocktails. Won't break the bank.
It's just a scarcity thing that they (BT) create themselves. I always have a bottle on the shelf and a backup cuz the wife likes it. No need to tell her that everything else I have is better as long as she's happy. It's a $25 bottle and 90 proof. Not sure why you would have expected to have your socks blown off. It's good, basic bourbon from one of the best distilleries in the country. Nothing more.

Wish they would keep handwriting the info, a nicer touch it gave to the bottle.

Serious question - I never really looked at them closely but always assumed the ‘handwritten’ labels were just handwriting-looking font printed with the rest of the label for the ‘look’. Are they really hand written?

Edited to add: not this particular bottle but any bourbon bottle with the numbers ‘hand written’

On most bottles I'd venture to say it's just a handwritten font, but these in particular sure looked to be penned in by hand.

Fryeday. Finally opened this up, @Billy Baroo, and it did not disappoint! Thanks again!

I’ll join you! I can assure you it only gets better after being opened up for a good 3-4 months. Celebrating my sister in law’s 50th birthday today, so I’m sharing a pour with my father in law tonight!
