Game of Gold ep1 (2 Viewers)

This show is fantastic. At least for modern poker enthusiasts.

I’m wondering if it’s good enough to break through beyond semi-hardcore poker fans though.

Is the poker jargon, advanced strategy, and various game constructs (SNG, HU, coins as a prize, coins as time, etc) too much for a casual reality TV audience? I’m leaning towards yes.

Too much surgery done, the face looks so unnatural to an Asian eye.

Even my dad comment on how fake her face is when he watching with me.
The difference is just ridiculous. I hadn't seen her for a long time after her first deep run in the main. And when I did, I had a hard time believing it was the same person.

My wife doesn’t understand poker outside of ranking the hands and she’s absolutely in love with this show.

I don’t think you have to understand the intricate aspects of it to appreciate the show overall. It’s a really well done show and has absolutely been fun to watch.

Maria said something in the first 1-2 episodes " i look way younger than I am"
I think even the players thought to themselves " yeah I wonder whyyyy"

Regardless, she is pretty composed from what we've seen so far. The opposite of David.

I have no idea why Nikita picked her teammates , just an overall bad team.

There is so much room for new ideas for this show, its so good.

Did Olga give away information in her Dat Poker Podcast Interview for episode 9? I'm listening now, and I think she gave some stuff away.

I arrived at my opinion that this show may not break through precisely BECAUSE I thought about sharing it with my wife to see if she’d like it  :ROFLMAO:

But maybe I’ll show her the first episode…
Try it! My wife has no interest in poker strategy but liked the show. Though, first episode is slightly tough because they lump almost all the women in the first round, she definitely picked up on that.

Round 1 was random draw (they showed them drawing as they entered the set)

I think he means the order of sending players to compete against one another, most of the teams selected the females first was my recollection, implying that women are perceived to be inferior to the male players who are saved for later/tougher rounds.

Yup. Not the teams, meant the first, lowest stakes table.

Episode 10: OMG!

Not to spoil it for anyone, but one of these players played some sick heads up poker. I was watching this episode on the edge of my seat!

I think once the heads up matches are completed, we will be moving to the final table. I don’t think there’s enough time for another competition.

Plus, it will leave us at exactly 9 which is exactly where you wanna be.
