Hot Dog Roller Pron (8 Viewers)

I'm hosting for my birthday later this month, and I'm going to get in on this roller action with this guy right here:

Usually we have 8 - 12 players, but I'm hoping to get to 2 tables worth on a regular basis.

Am I going to have hungry players if I go with the 18 dog model? It's on the way now, but in true PCF fashion, I'm already thinking about upgrading before it even arrives.

Or I guess the better question would be for those 30 dog roller folks out there: Why do you love/hate/regret your decision?

I use an 18 dog roller. The trick is keeping it constantly full. You do that and it will be fine.

The problem with the 30 dog roller is how much power it uses. Unless you have a dedicated circuit for it I would not try it.

I use an 18 dog roller and I think it’s perfect for a single table game. I’ll occasionally reload when necessary, but two dogs per person is usually more than enough.
So in that regard, if you’re really looking to run two tables consistently, I’d say the 30 dog roller is a no-brainer.
Though I can’t speak to its power requirements.

In my whole life I would’ve never guessed I’d end up here, but look at me now!

I found this thread 48 hours ago. And as fate would have it there was an Olde Midway PRO30 (!!!!!) on Craigslist 30 minutes away for $100. Never opened, never used.

Tonight I will run it through the initial ironing out and testing proper settings, Ava Saturday will be the maiden voyage for the home game.

FYI, I think the PRO18 would be perfectly sized for a normal group. But I couldn’t pass this one up for both price and availability.

I do have the sneeze guard, but not sure I’ll use it yet…

You're going to spend a fortune in hot dogs! A half filled roller just doesn't look right.

Haha! That's what my wife already said... I told her about all of this, including my plan to test it out tonight. She said "But... there's only three of us..." lol

I made churros on my hot dog roller last night. Although they were delicious and a big hit with my players, I wouldn't recommend making them on your roller. They needed to be constantly babysat to make sure they were turning and it was not nearly as easy as cleaning up after hot dogs. Also because of their length, I could only do four at a time. Next time I will just throw them in the oven.

Inauguration of the PRO30 was last night…. As expected it was amazing. Had 12 for poker and we downed 28 dogs/brats over about 6 hours.

I was initially thinking the PRO30 was too big and the PRO18 would be enough, but I found out that if you get the “bun length” Nathan’s they only fit two wide on the rollers, so your capacity is significantly limited. So I was pretty happy to have the extra rollers.

I had the cover and literally threw it away. Couldn't think of a time when we would use it, and the last thing I need in my garage is a large piece of rounded glass.

I have the 18 as well, and in hindsight would definitely have gotten a larger one. Feels like I'm constantly refilling it.

I get my dogs from Restaurant Depot, but still trying to find a source for those roller grill things they have at gas stations/7-11. Has like a pastry or shell on the outside and some kind of meat mixture inside. I think they call them Taquitos? Anybody ever find a source for those???
