I just bought some secondary fives that have been used in only two games, according to the seller, and they look like crap.

Is this what the entire set is going to look like after a couple games?

Picture on the left is the used, I posted a picture on the right now since everyone seems to think they look like the picture on the left when they arrived uncirculated from the chip room

The edges are fine that's not what I'm talking about, I'm talking about the incredible amount of scuffs, missing paint and added paint

Let me try and put this in perspective. This is the THC set of PCA secondaries that I have had and used in over 100 games, and they show none of these missing paint scuffs, especially after two games? What's it going to look like after two more games?

It has been my experience that modern paulsons (unleaded) do color transfer like crazy. Some colors do it worse than others. Or some are more noticeable than others? But yeah, compared to the older leaded chips, these things spew color all over each other like crazy. I'm surprised it doesn't get discusssed more areound here.

They still look fine to me. Scuffs aren’t that bad, i’ve seen way worse rack check marks on chip faces
My HSI $5s were similar upon receipt, direct from Chiproom.

One of the many reasons that THCs are vastly superior to RHCs are the flea bites and wear

edot: those don’t look bad, edges are still sharp
1000% this!

Having owned both, and actually still an owner of both, I’m scared silly to felt any RHCs. I know they will get flea bitten even if used with love and attention.

THCs are quite simply superior. I’ve felted THC sets multiple times, and they did not show the use. In 2 instances I had 2 table games with many non chippers and no flea bites to speak of.

I once felted my Jack Detroit set for a tournament and found a flea bitten $500P. Straight back into the safe with that set never to see the light of day again.

The RHCs are weak. Quite simply. IMHO

Finally somebody agrees with me. This is my thought process exactly and if these things are going to tear up this fast, I might as well sell the set while it's still uncirculated and move on to something else or expand my PCA set if that's even possible at this point

I remember back in the day like 15 years ago I would use Bellagio chips and they would turn my hands blue...

Yup. Check it out. Oiled or unoiled, these white chips look filthy from the brown transfer, after only 1000 shuffles.

It’d be difficult to sell them as uncirculated when they look like crap.

The RHC will do fine in a home game imo. But yeah, nothing like the PCAs. THC just wears better no question about it. “Dirtiness” from play of the chips should be no different though. The chips don’t necessarily look like that due to the 2 games. That’s just how they are from the factory.

I think all this is sadly true. However the ones I got directly from the chip room are in pristine condition compared to these...

Hi thanks for the response, no this is how they look from the factory

Bro, they are good, they are just experiencing thier first baby bumps and bruises, play them some more for gods sake.

Or wipe em off and wrap them in a diaper and put them in a safe deposit box.

Doing my job... Whyioutta!

Some grime and checks can happen. Magic eraser once around and they will clean right up. RHC and some colors can transfer alot more. RHCs are super prone to flea bites and light damage. But I'll also say, if your players treat them right, they don't do THAT bad. Same with roulette mold. My RHC set has 40-50 games on it and barrels are still tight. I do think a casino floor is particularly abusive to them.
