@BarrieJ3 being banned? Or the ongoing “debate” between @RainmanTrail and @DMack?What in the hell did I miss?
Just Barrie being Barrie I believeBarrie getting banned
We quit playing for a couple months because of the hysteria, but then got right back at it when a lot of things reported didn’t seem to be adding up. We’ve been playing for almost 10 months now. Not a single issue whatsoever. Had a hell of a lot of fun too.
And @WedgeRock
What world are you living in? You can literally go through my predictions with a fine toothed comb in that thread and I'll give you $1000 if you can find any expert on earth who was more spot on with ANY of their predictions than mine were. Practically everything I predicted there has come to fruition. People were joking about me being a wizard because of how creepily spot on all of my predictions were. Nice try.I think the only fake news was your death toll “calculations.” I won’t scold you for hiding out, Travis. That’s your choice. I, however, will continue to go on enjoying card games with friends. Thanks for your concern.
So. Barrie is banned.Barrie getting banned
So. Barrie is banned.
He is now of myth and legend. Like godzilla.

Not Herman too?!
Errr... King kong?
fifyHe is now of myth and legend. Likegodzillabergs.
Nope. He's gonzo.I don't think Barrie was banned. It's probably just temporary, or a "time out". His user profile still exists, unlike bergs or others who have been permanently banned.
Nope, he is banned.

I have kept up on like 1/3 of it. But that's what's known. I'm not sure most of us care either way. It was bound to happen like the tide.I have zero information on any of the decisions that were made about him, although I do have a guess. I just know how the forum software works and what happens when you temporarily ban someone vs when you permanently ban them. From my experience with the software, it looks like a temporary ban was placed on his account. But if the admins mods said otherwise, then obviously I'd be wrong. If only barrie said otherwise, then I'd bet on him being wrong/lying.

Travis, something we can finally agree on!!
We’ve been playing bi weekly through most of this as well, bring on the judgement.
It hit a point where the mental health aspect outweighed the physical risk for our group. And when you’ve spent your entire life exercising, eating well, limiting vice’s like excess alcohol and are already at low risk due to age. Why the f**k not play? None of our group is high risk, or in contact with those that are.
also, I don’t know why we can’t have health discourse over topics like this without it getting political. Not everything has to be about politics.![]()
Here’s the latest from the CDC for the US.A lot of this was our group too. My group knows the disease can kill, but when you look at the tiny, tiny percentage of deaths associated with our age group, we decided we were going to enjoy life. Our personal experiences with the disease were also in stark contrast to what was so commonly reported. Many of us are in higher risk occupations anyway, so getting back together to play caused for little debate.
As for our older, retired guys, many of them said they wanted to live out their “final days” doing things they loved, so they jumped right back in as well. Our most “at risk” individual, who we all thought would have a death sentence because of his many health issues if he got COVID decided he was not going to play anymore. We all understood. He ended up getting COVID anyway and did just fine. He’s back to being a regular again. If you ask him, he’ll tell you he wasted a lot of time my choosing not to play.
I have zero issue with those that want to stay in. I also have zero issues with those that want to keep on living as normal of a life as possible. I find myself to be in the latter group, and I’m happy to be there.
Funny how that happened. Who could have predicted such a thing? Here’s the latest from the CDC for the US.
It’s weird, in the last week of January cases just started plummeting. Just weird.
And here I thought avoid spreading the desease was the point of social distancing. Good thing your group isn’t in danger of becoming seriously ill from itA lot of this was our group too.
