I’m a degen with the rest of y’all, but no way I would want to play like this. Just curious whether others would be willing to.

That picture is staged though and they were not playing poker...No chips, dealer is not holding stub, etc

If they shrunk that down to about 12 inches off the table and put a top on it it might be better, deal the cards and chips in an enclosed space that the dealer can reach, possibly close the dealer off completely.

@Anthony Martino will have to let us know how it goes.

I don't like short-handed play. You sit 4-6 handed, then one guy goes to the bathroom, another to the buffet, another to smoke, and it's ridiculously short-handed. Just not my cup of tea.

But yeah, that plexiglass ain't gonna protect anyone, it's all bullshit and a waste of time and money to provide an illusion of safety

Totally neglects that the virus is more likely to spread on communally handled chips and cards.
People sitting at a table would have to wash their hands before sitting down and wear a mask and goggles/glasses to assure this doesn't happen. If people aren't touching their eyes/mouth/nose before touching the chips and cards, the risk of transmission, plexiglass or not, is quite low provided the masks and glasses stay on.

Not sure if anyone has played at the electronic poker tables before? Our casino had it 10 years ago and got rid of them pretty fast.

This plus the glass would be the only way for people to not exchange fluids via the chips and cards....

Sure, I trust people not to touch their face

that is the problem. Even if people were willing to play 4 handed, the house can't make enough money to break even.

Wouldn't they make more money then a typical 9 handed table as there are less players and more hands dealt? I get there won't be as many larger pots but definitely more hands dealt. That being said...the casino would much rather just replace the poker room with slot machines.

Sounds right, but it won't work. 4 handed there are way too many hands that end by the flop. The house only gets $1 or $2 rake where they would almost always get a max rake with 8-9-10 players. A good dealer is still going to get out 18-20 hands in 30 minutes.

Home poker isn’t very common here in South Florida because of just how many poker rooms there are. I expect to see more people playing home games for awhile because they don’t want to go swimming in the degen germ pits for awhile.
