I’ve been following the Main a little more closely this year, but I do miss the older ESPN broadcasts that were edited for TV. There’s something nice about seeing every hand, but there was something special about the way they used to edit for TV to maximize the content. Best/most important hands, following along with a pro at the featured table. Those one-hour broadcasts that always left off with a cliffhanger or crowning the tournament champion. Am I in the minority here? Do people miss these broadcasts? Or do you prefer seeing every hand and following along with the action as it happens (usually on a 30-minute delay)?

Side note, has anyone been on the rail for a final table at the Main? Any part of the Main? Or just on the rail for a final table at a big event?

I very much agree. I can watch endless streams of cashgames but donkaments are best enjoyed through the highlights with Lon and Norman; whamboozeled!

There are semi-similar (not nearly as good) summary videos on youtube now, but yes the ESPN days were fantastic. I believe CBS sports bought the rights to the WSOP, and they are seemingly doing nothing with it.

I’d argue that Lon and Norman make the coverage more fun for the average viewer but not necessarily better.

David Tuchman, Ali Nejad, Nick Schulman, and Jamie Kerstter, in any combo for the win

Tuchman the most pro/best analysis out of the group and Nejad/Schulman the most fun, especially on the night shift. Sometimes they sound like they’re high and just having fun

True, you put Nick Schulman in the booth and I’ll watch 5+ hours of tourney streams as well

Schulman is the Goat IMO he is better then Tuchman cause his analysis is the best and him joking around with Nejad is pure Gold they are both messed up human beings more so Nejad than Schulman lol

Love when Tuch and Bart Hanson do commentary on Hustler Live and/or LATB but don’t think they do LATB anymore

who is the dude that usually does it with that Jeff Platt he can be funny at times

he was on this WSOP and Jeff interviewed him and he was just saying how bad life sucks LOL

I think both are great. The problem with the ESPN edited ones are that by the time it airs, you already know who won. So give me the live stream now, and the editied show for people who want to watch or rewatch in the future.

it almost seems like they show the winner alot even though I hate this guys play I could see this guy winning it all this year

Zilong Zhang

I'd hate being at his table, but I love watching him. He's badass.

hes good but some of his stalling would make me so mad at the table

I think he is the 2022 Main Event Champ we shall see

Hes 2nd in chips with 177 to go my $ would be on him

Koray is still in it to at 40th he always has a shot that would be crazy to go back to back in this day and age

Lon and Kerstetter have been a good tandem, but Nejad and Schulman have been the most fun for me.

Nejad: "And don't forget to check out the Poker go discord for all of the latest conversation on the World Series of Poker and more. Discord. That's not some dark web, underground thing to learn how to build IEDs is it?"

Schulman: "No, Ali. No it isn't."

I agree with you. I have been watching some of the highlights, but I really love the edited shows. There's a big difference between showing the tournament covering it like news, vs. producing a whole string of shows that more entertainment than poker geeky. There's definitely room for both. I miss Norman!

I think Lococo sucks at Cards his play at the final table last yr was horrible but for him to run this far in both is crazy but his Rapping even though I cant understand it sounded awesome there LOL

man some of these plays ae insane

the Attenborgh vs Dobric INSANE

the Tran vs Kunze Unreal

the Diaz vs Rebei WOW

MAN I dont even want to watch now tanked for I think 19mins with a 4 WOW WTF
And then he has the nerve to tell the guy who took 20 seconds pre that he needed to speed up. “The Preflop stuff shouldn’t take long” he says. Wow!
