They might just be... The twitter chatter from the "insiders" has cooled down but there is still an outside shot. I mean if there wasn't a chance, I feel he would have signed with the Mets already. And the Jays FO is a bit desperate.
I feel the most likely scenario is Boras was using the Jays to try to get the Mets to up their offer BUT Alonso still signs with the Mets.
But as a Jays fan I'd like to see Vlad / Santander/ Alonso hit back to back to back.

His stuff must have been nasty, because the first six strikes were called.
Some decent framing by catcher on a couple of those but yes he was on fire. He' s gonna be the stopper this year, just brutal on LHB. We've got some good lefty pitching this year for sure.
Pitch #2 on the first batter looked a little low ...Got one of these yesterday, on fire, don't see them that often.
