Why are chips sold in increments of 25? (1 Viewer)

Not sure if this is a dumb question because i'm new but does anyone know why chips are so commonly sold in increments or minimums of 25, i understand the need for a minimum but it would make more sense to me to have it be 20 as that's the standard size that fits in a chip rack. Not much I can really do about it but was wondering if anyone knew the reasoning for this.
 
It because the poker case is manufactured in row of 50s.

Because they hate chip collectors and take joy in our frustration at mismatched barrels in racks
