Who's going to play in the Big 50 at the WSOP? (2 Viewers)

Organizing a group from home game to play in Big 50. Few of us have rooms booked at Rio Sat to Fri. Should be fun.
Will confirm flight once registration opens. We were thinking Sunday.

Perfect. You can hand deliver your desert palms to me so that I can buy them from you  :ROFLMAO:

However, I'm not a fan of the Big 50 structure. Decent starting stack value at 250bb, but the table antes suck. Designed with casino benefits in mind, not player benefits. Vote with your entry dollars.

So pretty much don’t play no limit hold-em tournaments in casinos lol

Two of the three NLHE events he posted don't have table antes. Dunno what you're laughing at.... but viable options are certainly out there, including events without any antes at all.

Given that I’ll be in Vegas from 28th May to the morning of the 4th June and won’t have time to play any wsop events, can anyone recommend any other tournaments worth playing.

Bit of a thread jack, sorry.

I’m a cash player so I’m relatively clueless on tourney structures.

The Venetian Deepstacks series will be going on and has some great structures I played last summer. Planet Hollywood Goliath has some good everts too

Daily deepstack tourneys at WSOP,

Ah, didn’t realise they did daily ones too. Please tell me they will be Paulson wsop chips.
the daytime which usually has 1000 runners uses BJ chips then the nightly uses RHC tourney chips

For those looking to ball out on a budget for WSOP this summer, always check out Jockey Club for a hotel room first. Literally has an elevator that takes you into the Cosmopolitan - rooms are absolutely massive (there isn't marble floors like the Cosmo, but I'll take a full living room, kitchen, and separate bedroom over that any day). Stayed here many times, and managed to fit 15 college friends and myself into the two bedroom suite last summer for 3 nights for $300 total.

/end pro-tip (aka degenerate tips)

Had no idea about this place!

I take friends here all the time and they are shocked that a hotel exists in-between Cosmo and Bellagio. If I didn't sell it enough, their property deal with Cosmo allows you to park in the Cosmo parking garage free of charge for your entire stay, and you get to use the 15th floor Cosmopolitan pool complex.

I can second this. We’ve stayed here several times and although it’s dated its super convenient and cheap. Free popcorn, movies, $5 parking, walk to anything, watch the fountains....,

I feel like we need a pcf cash game whilst the big 50 is on.

Harvested live Vegas chips to be used. That or try to get a table opened in a casino and play
It is definitely not on the strip, but you might reach out to Kathy Raymond, the poker room manager, at Green Valley Ranch.
It would help if you had a somewhat firm grip on a minimum number of players you could provide and a minimum amount of time you could commit those players. (it requires having adequate dealers.)
The table and list could start as a PFC table through prior access to the list), but then the list would then be open to the public.
GVR spreads mixed games, on a semi-regular basis, so they have the dealers that can deal those games.
Kathy has always taken care of the *ARGE groups while at Foxwoods, the Venetian and, starting in August, at GVR.

Buy in with your own Paulson/trks? Leave with what you win?

So who's planning on playing in the Big 50 tournament at this year's WSOP? The field is going to be insanely huge. Perhaps we could schedule a meet up for a drink?

If you are going to play, please include the day/flight you intend to play.

Confirmed going:

  1. DoubleEagle - Thur.
  2. @kmccormick100 - Sat.
For some reason I can't edit my OP to update the list. No edit button/link now.

Updated list. Let me know if I have missed anyone.
  1. DoubleEagle
  2. @kmccormick100
  3. @Perthmike
  4. @Matt G
  5. @ekricket
  6. @APatHand
  7. @hex
  8. @bsdunbar1
  9. @Minraiser
  10. @Moxie Mike (at WSOP but not playing in Big 50)
  11. @Max D
