Not Mine Who the hell would drill quarters? What a waste. (1 Viewer)

A while ago there was some lady on Etsy who was epoxying THCs to handbags. I asked her if she had any more (not yet glued) chips... She said they were from her husband’s poker set and he would be mad if he found out!

I play a lot of table top games and I wanted to make these terrain pieces out of D10 dice without pips standing on their point. I tried a bunch of different ways to drill into them on just the point so I had a way to mount them but it was always a huge pain in the ass.

I found a woman on etsy who made jewelry out of dice without pips and I bought like 100 blanks from her for really cheap already drilled. She was super confused by what I was doing with them but I guess she was happy for the sale and I was happy not to drill them myself.

Anyways, people are idiots sometimes.

Drill baby drill !

I would take drilled chips all day every day, compared to what they do to decommissioned Vegas chips now. Those with weak constitutions should look away when they get to the chip shredding section:

I honestly wasn’t expecting the video to affect me but that really hurts deep down.

Either casino complying wirh laws
Or geniuses making key chains
Back in the day you have to wonder how many shops got COOL chips for souvenirs and said hey why not key chains

Who knows how many Z grade Chips got drilled back in the day knowing nothing

RIP

I bought a 39mm dunes $1000 keychain off eBay for $8. I popped it off the keychain and sold it at a single here for $45

some of the CHEAP arrowdie $5 binions chips that all got drilled Id honestly find a filler and plug the
holes and throw them in the cash set if they were the nicer color ones. If you can find them like a buck
a chip and make them look not as bad for a rack of chips in your game.... why not.

People here have reported playing with drilled chips, like entire racks, and said that you don’t even notice. I’m sure I’d notice, but given the choice, I guess I’d rather play with chips with holes in them than chips filled with spackle or bondo.

I found some Binions ArrowDie $5s but they were the worst color so I didnt do it but I think if you got the right color clay or a good filler and color matched it then did a very careful job it might come out ok. or a colored hot glue so its not so blatant with a good match color. I wanted to try it just if I could perfect a process that looks overall better but the color they had was so MEH I didnt want to

In theory you could sacrifice 1 chip and heat it up and use pieces of it to fill the holes of the other chips.
Pure guessing but maybe one chip can fill 30 holes?

someone try this and get back to me with their results:sneaky:

Yah if you could turn it to near powder and make a kind of filler putty.
Brilliant!!!!

Seems like the perfect scenario for a relabel, whether refilled or not.

I wouldn't try patching a drill hole with heated material -- sounds like a great way to add heat and warp the base chip, and I doubt hot clay will adhere to cold clay in any case.

But grinding up color-matched clay into dust and mixing it with clear expoxy or clear gorilla glue might just work as a decent filler.

Probably not worth the effort for just one chip, but if you had a rack of drilled chips....
