PCF has a lot of interesting characters with amazing poker chips, tables, dealer buttons, cut cards, home games, and meet-ups. What's your favorite "cool idea" that you've seen another PCF member incorporate into their setup, home game, etc...?

I'll go first. I love the "Hall of Fame" chips @Poker Zombie created for his home game regulars:

Found it! I'm seriously contemplating buying one of these! I absolutely hate when some player(s) turn my 6 hour tournaments into turbos! I'm just a bit worried that it can have the opposite effect, that players who would have acted after 10 seconds feels that they might as well use all their allocated time...

A couple of guys are absolute murder when it comes to calling an all-in during our tourney games. They can take 5 minutes or longer so after reading about shot clocks (I’d never heard of them before as basketball is very much a minority sport over here) I bought one of these time cubes.
Anyone can turn it on at any point regardless of whether or not they are in the hand. It’s become something of a running joke but the difference it’s made to our game is amazing. We’re rattling through double the number of hands now.

I found this helps more with people who unnecessarily waste time

I'll nominate @detroitdad make it a double, so he's not naming a cool idea incorporated into his own game  :ROFLMAO: (I actually do like the idea, obviously since I bought a barrel of em)

I like anything different that can possibly add to the gameplay. Absolutely loved the idea of having folks pick their color and matching barrel rack, I'm definitely the kinda guy to tighten up or horribly bluff depending on the color of chips in the pot.

Second 3D3Ps dice.

For the multitude of people that do it, I like throwing a couple bucks down and rollng LeftRightCenter at breaks.

It's very specific to their home game, but @Eloe2000 bad beat hit in the head with mango rule. It's awesome, and makes me think of mortal kombats and games where you can use your surroundings.

His bump table photos would also make awesome art, hadn't heard of that before so I'd consider it a cool idea.

I've never had a home game, but if we're stuck playing only holdem on a night, we'll be using RIVERsides for every time throughout the night that someone sucks out. Whoever has the most at the end of the night brings a bottle to the next game.

Most of my love for the "extras" comes from playing non poker games and all the home brews or house rules on em.

@Poker Zombie @Mrs Poker Zombie surely you all have some craziness that you implement from time to time? Do you have any "cool ideas" you incorporate that came from your gaming background?
We try to keep the poker to "Casino Regulation". A number of my players have thanked us for that, as they learn here then have later played in casinos - comfortably. That said, each night we have a different bonus. The bonus is carefully designed (from a gaming perspective) to usually (not always) favor a losing player, and to not disrupt the action/strategy of a regular poker game.

Too many to list without derailing the thread, so suffice to say that some bonuses require extra chips...

I love my Bonus chip. That's kind of what I was trying to do with my River's chips, support good or bad play throughout the night without it actually affecting in game play.

Not playing much poker limits my thinking of the possibilities. I sense a PM incoming your way....

** disclaimer if you don't like a good ole Ben book... scroll down and skip this one! Lmao

Man don't ask me to choose, I have 2 and then a clear third place... being a huge Pirate nut, the very first time I saw @Ronoh Pillage and Plunder set, I was obsessed. The CSQ mould is by far my favorite! The time spent on spot progression of each chip is absolutely mind blowing!! The time it took to give each chip in the series a name and write up of the idea and how the chip came about! I don't think you can find a bigger fan of these beauties!!

But especially the clever use of the $8 chip titled "pieces of eight" to those that don't know I think this is correct... in the old Pirate days Spanish silver coins were chopped into 8 bits and were a smaller form of currency. It was used liberally in The Pirates of the Caribbean but to incorporate the idea into a chip is mind blowing!!

Also the other chip that differs from the line up "the green flash $1,000" incorporating that green flash at sun set, absolutely another amazing way to tie pirate tales into the chip set... unfortunately I don't have a great close up of that one.

To tie the "red sky at night, sailors delight" color matching the clay along with the water line... not in my wildest dreams could I have come up with this one!! Overall with the insane number of different denominations, bright colors, and on my favorite Mould I am confident saying I don't think this set will ever be beaten in my eyes!!

The other set is The Silver Tounged Devil Speakeasy Gambaling Hall... while the chips are amazing the inlay design and theme of this set is just a step above most of what you see out there... I call it the next generation of chipping graphics.

This absolutely amazing design is by the insanely talented @Quicksilver-75 on the CPC scrown mould. When the opportunity to own this set came up, even though I couldn't afford it, I knew it was a once in a lifetime opportunity. I also own the rights to make additional chips and one day I hope to have enough to make this a solid PCF meet up tourney set!

Not only are the chips amazing. The details and other designs like the MSK jeton bounties, high hand plaques, multiple dealer button options and custom number high denom plaques all really compliment the set very well. Steve has also given me permission to one day get a custom tattoo on my forearm of the Silver Tounged Devil, I also plan to theme my poker room around it eventually as well!

My third entry would be @Potsie1 or who ever came up with the idea of using Octagons as high denom Plaques!

Not only do they take up far less space on the poker table than full sized plaques, but it also gives the set another shape, they have been a huge hit with our home games so much so that I decided to do the same with my own high denoms for my CDI tourney set!

Absolutely genius status on this one! Highly recommend if you are looking for something a little different on your high denoms!

Again awesome thread, thank you to anyone who decides to take the time to read this one! These guys definitely deserve the praise!
