I’m currently looking for software to post blinds and a timer for my home tournaments and I was wondering what are the cheap and high end options and what are their pros and cons. Currently I had a friend recommend The Poker Timer Pro but I wanted to come here before I made any purchases just in case there are better software options.

If you are and Android person, Blinds are Up! is a really great app! We currently use Tournament Director now for some of the extra features but if you just need a great easier to use app, Blinds are Up is a great choice!

Love Tournament Director, and can't beat it for the price if just needing a single license. For a while I ran it off a USB key and just whatever Windows computer was handy.

I have started to look at Poker Timer Pro for just a quick and easy one time tournament that I don't care about tracking stats, or keeping a detailed player database. All of that and more is handled in TD, and is still my goto, now if Corey would just get a Mac version, the world would be good.

I like it. Simple, clean and free.
I like the look of Blind Valet, but I saw it was limited to 9 on the free version? And then it starts getting pricy. $5.79 a month seems steep for a home game poker timer. In 7 months of that, you have paid for the personal license for Tournament Director, and it is a perpetual license for the current version, and he gives a nice discount to upgrade to the new version license.

Fair points. For me it's a non-starter though because I am on Mac. And I haven't had more than 8 people so far so haven't needed to purchase a subscription, but if I did get anymore than 9 (which I may soon) I still think it's a good value because:

1) It's browser based. I can open it on any computer (Windows or PC), phone, or iPad and am ready to go with just a login. No need to to download any apps. I can have as many displays showing the countdown timer as I have screens in my house. If I ever do get a second table, unfortunately they're going to need to go to an indoor loft where they can't see the main TV. But that's not a problem because I can just set my iPad up there so they can see the timer and it all syncs like magic.

2) I can have it on a display on my TV (or multiple TVs), but control blinds, timers, rebuys, and knockouts wirelessly from my phone at the table. No getting up to go to my computer to adjust registration, rebuys, pause the clock, etc.

Particularly for point number two, that's worth it's weight in gold.

I’ve been using Blind Valet and Blinds Up. Each has its own strengths and weaknesses, so I’ve been using both for a few tournaments now. I wrote up a short summary here: https://www.pokerchipforum.com/thre...nt-solution-are-you-using.106524/post-2199997

And I’ve provided some more feedback to someone who is working on building a new tool.

Just a few days ago, I learned about CasinoWare, which appears to be a much more Tournament Director-like tool, but for Mac. Much more advanced than any of the other apps recommended here.

I’m planning to run it alongside Blinds Up for an event next weekend. There are some pretty helpful video tutorials for the basics, and I’m really excited to try it out. The main downside so far appears to be that there are no English language help articles, tutorials, walkthroughs, forums, etc. for the advanced functionality that is built into it. The company is based in Europe and doesn’t seem to have much of a following here, so I’ve had trouble finding any resources to help me really dial it in.

I found Poker Timer on the iOS App Store. Anyone have experience with that or the pro version?
