Anybody know? Is it temperature, humidity, composition?
How can one say mint if they are warped? I personally would send them back. Later down the road I couldn't call them mint, I'd say they are warped and edges are mint, but then the price would drop from what you paid.So I have a few questions regarding this particular subject as well....
@Ben8257 and I have recieved racks of mint hotstamp chips where not a single chip was warped and other racks where over 80% of the chips were warped... I'm curious if the hot stamping procedure warps the chips, and if so why only some racks and not others? Is it exposure to a non air/temp controlled environmental? Can leaning over in a rack (ie half of a barrel) cause the warping? Coming across ALOT of warped chips being sold as mint for high market values...is this an acceptable condition for "mint" chips if its caused by the hot stamping process?
What causes inlay chips to warp?
That's kind of my feelings on that as well... Ben bought chips from a vendor, listed in brand new condition and every single chip is warped and a few have flea bites .....How can one say mint if they are warped? I personally would send them back. Later down the road I couldn't call them mint, I'd say they are warped and edges are mint, but then the price would drop from what you paid.
Hotstamping definitely can cause warping. The Paulson grand cardroom chips on the suits mold often contain a number of warped chips for example and those came straight from the factory. So I have a few questions regarding this particular subject as well....

This is disturbing from anyone, but from a vendor?? Come on guys... Where is your integrity. I'd take pics and send a message that these are not "new". Take a huge discount off or they are coming back to you, and I'll also warn the community of your "new chips".That's kind of my feelings on that as well... So with that example it makes it "acceptable" to sell them in that condition because the production process causes the warping?Hotstamping definitely can cause warping. I dont feel like making that much of a scene lol but I do agree he should receive a discount or at least have the option to return themThis is disturbing from anyone, but from a vendor?? @Perthmike why would a person not show it in pictures? Also making sure the buyer knows about it. Warping to me is worse than a bunch of flea bites. Warping tilts me! And to call it new? Fcke thatSo with that example it makes it "acceptable" to sell them in that condition because the production process causes the warping?
THIS ^Warping to me is worse than a bunch of flea bites. Warping tilts me!
To me that's not an excuse. But hey if you guys want to sell that as new w/e. I won't be part of it.Well I guess I'd always point it out in the sale thread, at the very least show it with pics.
But then on the other side, if Paulson send them from the factory and consider it to be saleable condition, then I suppose they are
I asked the same thing.... why wouldn't they remake the chips instead of selling garbage ??To me that's not an excuse. But hey if you guys want to sell that as new w/e. I won't be part of it.
Insanity. You think a casino in Vegas would put up with that shit? They would never receive chips in that condition and if they did they would be getting new ones. Hey look I can stack 10 chips and my card capper falls off them bc of the 45° angleI asked the same thing.... why wouldn't they remake the chips instead of selling garbage ??
Brie, I'm not asking you to out the vendor (you should contact them directly), but I would like to know what chips you/Ben purchased that are warped. The card pip (suits) mold is pretty notorious for this, both inlays and hot-stamps.I dont feel like making that much of a scene lol but I do agree he should receive a discount or at least have the option to return them
So what you are asking for is the vendor Dave?Brie, I'm not asking you to out the vendor (you should contact them directly), but I would like to know what chips you/Ben purchased that are warped. The card pip (suits) mold is pretty notorious for this, both inlays and hot-stamps.

Have no intention of making a public scene hereYeah let's not start calling out vendors in this thread lol some discussion about warping definitely, but keep the rest of it private I'd say.
Those are most likely warped from improper storage, probably in a hot storage trailer located in the desert. More common than you might think.Nevada landing .50 paulsons
That's interesting, so if that's true Dave do they have a right to be kinda upset at the "new" tag attached? Those are most likely warped from improper storage, probably in a hot storage trailer located in the desert. More common than you might think.
I understand but from what I'm getting is they paid market price as a mint chip and got Pringles.Chips could certainly be uncirculated yet damaged. Not getting drawn into a 'new' and/or 'mint' debate.
The gaps in the chips indicate warping, if you hold a barrel tightly between 2 fingers up to a bright light you will see light pass between the warped chips. Also if you place them on a hard surface and tap the edge of the top of the barrel and they wobble considerably they are likely warpedI've never seen a warped chip. Can you show some pics please?

And toynoob should stay out if it. My 2 cents.you should contact them directly
