So pretty proud of this one. Some of you know me as a huge Red Wings fan, which I am. But I am also a pretty big Toronto Raptors fan too. So the Raps are currently on their best playoff run in the history of the franchise and with a win tonight, they go to the NBA finals.
The games in Toronto tonight (I live about 2 hours away) and I wanted to go sooooooo bad, but just couldn’t swing it. So I went to the casino last night to see if the poker gods could help me out, and boom. Made enough for 2 tickets for tonight’s game 6 for me and my girlfriend. With exchange and ticketmaster fees, the tickets were stupidly expensive. So the extra 1k from the 1/3 cash game last night helped.
Things like this, is why I absolutely love poker. It’s allowing me to experience history.

WOW. Im so jealous. I contemplated the $1500 tickets all day yesterday. Decided against it but if they advance i cant see myself not buying a game 5 ticket!

We were talking about this last night too, for finals tickets gonna have to play 2/5 and not 1/3 lol.
 
Man oh man, that was probably the greatest sporting event I’ve ever been to. (I went to a Wings playoff game against Anaheim where Zetterberg scored in overtime which was pretty nuts too). But oh man, soooooo good. We lucked out too, trying to navigate the 100,000 people there, we ran into the team twice lol. Kawhi walking through the arena and Drake leading the team out to JP

Rooting for the Raptors in this series. Hopefully will be reminiscent of when the Pistons dominated the Shaq/Kobe/Karl Malone/GP “Super Team” Lakers.

Part of me wants to try my luck at the casino tonight to see if my Raptor Run Good continues lol.
No KD is huge. Pretty intense game 1, hopefully the boys can keep it Rollin. Danny hit some shots, Pascal was unstoppable and Gasol played like 2010 Gasol.
 
Iblocka needs minutes to warm up. Glad he got his.when him n gasol both are in the game its over.
Green is better late than never.
If Siakam is confident he can bank it off the glass every possession.

People keep talking about GS being injured but raps beat them at full strength without kawhi

GS is hurt, but the Raps are a damn good team! I'm a lifelong Wolves fan, so there is quite a bit of bias in this take, but I hope Kawhi stays in Toronto. Ujuri can continue to build a nice squad around him for more Finals runs in the future. Would be fun to watch!

They are hurt but they still have a former MVP, finals MVP and 4 (former) all stars in their line up lol.

Didn't see the game last night (Fuck the NBA until they bring the Sonics back) but looking at the box score didn't he go for 30?
 
I'm happy the Raptors are winning but man are you guys lucky with the injuries lol. I'd prefer to watch both teams at full power go at it. I'm so bitter because 08-09 KG went down and 09-10 Kendrick Perkins for game 7 against the Lakers. Celtics could have had three straight. I'm just a big bag of salt don't mind me :ROFL: :ROFLMAO:. Boston gets enough titles I shouldn't complain.

Edit: Just read some of the above posts. Let's all be brutally honest here. Warriors at full strength are bar none the best team in the NBA. I don't want to get into debates about regular season records and all that hoopla.

Agree with most of this post, but let's be honest...the 09-10 Celtics choked. If I recall correctly, they had a 17 point lead late in the 3rd quarter in that game 7 and lost. Not a Lakers fan or a Boston hater.
 
I don't think they were up 17, but I agree 100% that they lost themselves that game. I bring up KP because a big portion of that came down to second chance opportunities and not closing out a good defensive stands with a rebound. Pau Gasol and Kobe combined for 33 rebounds.

Went back and reviewed the third quarter from a full game Youtube video, highest was a 12 point lead with about 8 minutes left in the third but that is a lot of basketball left to play. 4th quarter was a 1-2 possession game most of the quarter.
