Not Mine Vegas casino chips in vegas (1 Viewer)

I wonder if this is part of the collection that's been on Criaglist for years. Hundreds (maybe thousands) of dice, slot tokens, even freakin' ashtrays and swizzle sticks from an epic hoarder.

I dont know, by the looks of it there are some pretty nice chips in that lot.

I can see some trks and dunes and oldschool Vegas paulsons.

I'm sure there are some that arnt worth 2 bucks a chip, but looks like there are plenty worth alot more tha 2 bucks.

Just be careful. I sent the link to a dealer friend of mine in Vegas who said they look like a lot of chips that were stolen from them. They are going to check on it.

By no means am I saying that these are stolen. Only that this particular dealer stated they recognized a lot of chips as being same type ones that were stolen from them.

I hope they aren't the same chips that were stolen from your dealer friend.

But if they are, then I'm glad that the thief decided to publicly post the stolen goods on local Craigslist, which should make it quite easy for the police to gather their evidence and lay charges.

(I love it when criminals post their antics on social media!)

“I hardly know crap about casino tokens so you look through the binders.”

To have that many chips and not know about Casino Tokens or chips it sounds fishy. He doesn’t say how he came about them or why he is selling them. It very well could be the people who stole from @AfterTheFact ’s friend. Criminals are not the brightest bulbs in the shed.

That's exactly what I was thinking!

Thought the same thing....

My thought is that even if they were the stolen chips, how are you going to prove it, unless they are all still packaged the same as when stolen and you have 'beyond reasonable doubt' kind of evidence?

This would be like proving someone stole your change jar.

Uh, yeah officer, I have an old picture of my change jar right here. Of course, I added some coins and removed others, and the jar broke so I had them in a different one...

I guess you could secretly mark them with UV ink and unique ID numbers (ruining their original quality).

As a dealer, you would probably be better off using your insurance claim money to try and buy then back as a single lot.

Or investing your insurance claim money in a good safe.

There would be plenty of ways to prove it, but getting the authorities to file charges could be more difficult.

Filling an insurance claim on collectibles is complicated. I don't think most collectibles are covered by standard home owners or rental policies, if anything you would have to have detailed records and photos of the items being insured. There are many reasons for this, not the least of which being hard to prove these little clay disks "no cash value" sell for $5 each or more!

I looked up the phone number provided in the listing. These people do Estate sales and have other casino items like dice and ashtrays so it makes sense they could have these also. Most likely these people look as they could be legit and it would explain why he does not know crap about casino tokens as he put it.

I hope someone here gets them so we can see the goods!

Edit : Holy cow! I really hope someone here picks up some of this stuff!
