Pretty big collection of chips for sale in auction in Florida.

Casino, Poker, & Gaming Chip Collector Auction

See what you think! So many chips I can't look them all up.

I see several that look like bargains.

Pretty big? Jeebus it would take me a week full time just to go through all the lots and determine a bidding strategy for things I wanted.

Well damn. I think there’s maybe only one lot I’d be really really interested in at first glance but that is a mother lode

Huge treasure trove in Florida for singles collectors. I wonder who passed away.

Although, lol at these two:

"SCOTTY'S CLUB WINNEMUCCA NEVADA CASINO" - Oh, come on. Those are generic chips sold by USPCC and others to the public for home games, they just happen to have Scotties on them. Chipguide lists some chips for Scotty's Club in Winnemucca, and they look like you'd expect:

Good luck to all bidders!

As I dive in, there are almost no home run chips. It’s like somebody got to them first and cherry picked, or this collector never got them in the first place.

Could be completely unrelated but there have been quite a few good sales of stacks, odd barrels and sometimes racks on eBay recently - maybe this auction is just the leftover of a largest sale that took place a while ago.

Lnlsales?

Don’t remember specific sellers names but I can think of the Regency $100, quite a large amount of Atlantic Maritimes (seller has now figured out he was selling a tad cheap lol), odd amounts of fantasy chips etc…as I said maybe just a coincidence but for months it felt like only junk was hitting eBay

That is one of the better chips available. I found a Burro Inn donkey facing left chip I would like. Kinda rare. Then I zoomed in and it has a drill hole. This auction is not for me. Gotta buy too much chaff with the grain of wheat here and there.

Hello All:

We are Omnia Auctions, the auctioneer on this chip auction.

https://www.omniaauctions.com/sell-collect-collectible-casino-poker-chip-gaming-collector-auction

This collection has not been picked over.

This collection is consigned into us from a local consignor here in North Florida. The collector was her uncle. He passed back 4 or 5 years ago. She inherited the collection, as a whole and in its entirety. She placed it directly in a storage. We met her at the storage facility and dug this collection out.

This auction is the entirely of his collection. It has not been parted off and not been cherry picked. This is just what he collected. Unfortunately, we are not able to share the name publicly.

Everyone is welcome to bid. All lots open at $5 and will sell to the highest bidder. To bid, you simply visit the online catalog from the sale page at our website. You can pre-bid now (ahead of the live webcast auction) or log on at 2pm EDT on 9/18/22 to bid live real-time in the live online auction webcast.

We have our own in-house shipping department. Worldwide shipping is available on every lot.

We have never handled a chip collection of this size. Over the years we may have had a couple chips here and again, but nothing of this magnitude.

We hope the cataloging and images available in the online catalog are sufficient so as to provide all of the information you need for bidding.

We do welcome any feedback. Feel free to PM me or email malcolm@omniaauctions.com

Also, please reach out if you have any questions about the auction or bidding. We are able to assist you.

Thank you all for sharing this auction within the collecting community. We appreciate it and are certain the consignor does too.

If you’re not used to large collections of singles, running an auction for such a collection is really difficult. I’d say not a bad job so far. I wish some of the larger groupings had more photos of chip faces, it’s hard to figure out what is in some lots. The hammer price will ultimately reflect that.

Thank you for your reply.

I thought each of the larger quantity lots had photos of the chips all spread out, like this:

But looking just now, I see this is not the case. Because in seeing the very first lot, they did not properly display them out to reflect all of them:

I will speak with my photography department to see if they can take additional photos of the larger lots. We should be able to get these updated by early next week.

If you have questions on particular lots or need more info, you are always welcome to call the gallery and they can quickly assist.

Kind Regards,
Mal

Given the success of the Chip Room auctions, it seems like some of these up for auction would fetch a higher price in a PCF auction setting (especially the multiple fracs and dollars)

Not sure how many PCF members will go out of their way to place a max bid for a live auction or will be around for a live internet bidding process……

Thank you for your reply. If interested, they will have to bid through our platform. It's the only option for this auction. We hear this often in this industry, across many product types, but the truth is ~ those who want them will register and bid. Kind Regards ~ Malcolm, Omnia Auctions

I have the photography department working on this now. All large group lots that do not currently have clear photos of the obverse & reverse will be updated. They went through the auction and said it is about 25 lots. Please look for these to be updated late tomorrow.

Thank you.
