Well the Mrs and me just arrived at the Venetian. They upgraded us to a room with a view. Just got here and getting ready to go out. Probably a simple dinner and then maybe a little gamble!

First night Pictures f the room and view.

See everyone later. Hopefully some good news and pictures later!

Love the Wynn so much. Sunday afternoon tourney is about as soft as they come, Highly recommended.

So not the best night of poker but had fun. Busted out of the Flamingo tournament early and then playing cash my full house loses to rivered quads. Had it in correctly by that's how it goes sometimes. Today playing a bit and headed to Spinettis later. Maybe head downtown for a bit and back this evening for a nice dinner at Joes prime steakhouse and stone crab.
Not playing as much as I usually do but enjoying my bday with my wife.

Ok had a little time to play this morning at the Venetian. Played for an hour and a half before leaving with the wife shopping. In with $300 and out with $442. Went to spinettis an d met Mikko. Tonight dinner at Joes prime and stone crab followed by Penn and Teller. Not a whole bunch of gambling but probably going to hit another tourney at the Flamingo before dinner. Cards seem to be running better to today.

P&T = awesome show. Arrive early and get a chance to check out the stage and a few props before hand.

Run good, and always wanted to see P&T, so let me know how awesome it was. Happy B-Day and don't worry about the small loss, you are in V and life is awesome,

SERIOUSLY!!!! Flash buffet promotion!!!!!

After you get 3 hours of poker at any CES property (or 1.5 hours at Ceasars), you earn a FREE (yes FREE) buffet at any of their properties (except Ceasars). After you play 3 hours, you need to go to the TR desk (or kiosk) and print the voucher (good for 48 hours). You can earn two vouchers and you and the misses can both go to a nice buffet on the house. I've been reading all sorts of folks have been soaking up these free buffets, and from the sounds of things, Harrahs buffet seems to be the nutz. :) Best of luck!

Going to report later on dinner (currently waiting for P&T to start) but what a surprise. An old friend and mentor of mine had arranged to pick up my tab at Joe's prime steak and stone crab. What a great dinner. I think the waitress enjoyed it as well after I left her s 30% tip!

A brief recap of day two. Did not gamble much today and spent time with my wife but here is what we did.

Got up early and had breakfast here at the Venetian. Got in our car and first stop was Spinettis where we met Mikko and drooled over all of the chips!!

Then we went downtown and walked around for a bit had a small lunch and came back to the room. Mrs O got me a Carlos cupcake from "The Cake Boss" as a bday cake!

We went to Caesar's and walked around still no gamble but we did have dinner at Joe's Prime Steak and Stone Crab. Not having eaten much beef lately we both had a petite fillet with creamed spinach after the wedge salad we split. First surprise was brownie with ice cream for dessert that they brought us and then the big surprise was a great friend and my mentor for the last 30 years had called ahead and paid for our meal. Waitress liked that because she got a 30% tip!!!

After Ceasars we went over to the Rio and saw the Penn and Teller Show. What a great show and a must see if you are in town. After the show we met them (See pics in @links_slayer thread for Links strong Chip). I am at the room now and getting ready to head down and play a little cash game. Need to run good.

Two days only down a little over $200 which included my $60 tourney buy in so not bad.

Another full day with nothing planned. May go enter a tourney again or maybe a couple. Who knows but it's Vegas so anything is possible.

Looks like a pretty good birthday! Have fun playing cards tomorrow. (I think I'd still be at Spinetti's!).

So I had a chance to go back and play a bit since Mrs. O went to bed. I played a few hours and ran pretty good.

The hand that made the night was Hero sitting in seat 9 and on the button and dealt As Ad. Villain sitting in 5 raises to $15 and seat 8 calls. Hero raises and makes it $50 to go. Villain takes a long time and shoves. Seat 8 folds and Hero calls. Villain asks do you have Ace's to which hero exposes cards. Seat 8 said they folded jacks and villain had a middle pair. nice size pot!

I went in with $300 and out with $781. As AC/DC sings..... Back in Black!!!!

Just got back from a great trip. Not too much to report from the last day but I highly recommend The Venetian if you are taking your wife or significant other!!! Great rooms!!! Also I know my report is not as detailed as the Zombies but wanted to share a bit of my trip with you folks. And yes, Penn and Teller are great. Check out the pics in Links_Slayers chip thread.

I was able to finish my rack with the last 18 Flamingo spotted with birds. My wife was good at helping. I didn't even have to play a limit game to get them. I even ended up with 5 extra! They are pretty scarce but when you have a persuasive wife it is easy to get them. I think she had a bunch of dealers looking the whole day for her. It was really cool to see her do that for me. Love that Mrs O!!!

To sum everything up we went and spent Monday through Thursday. Room cost me a total of $100 for Resort fees, Dinners and food out of pocket was around $200 not including the free bday dinner at Joe's Prime and a bunch of tip money spent. All in all we came back home with around $200 more in pockets than when we left.

+1 for Venetian when wife tags along! Aria would be an equally good choice, IMO.

Glad you had a successful trip and thank you again for the killer pics :)

You are welcome. I had been planning something great for your collection of pictures and tried to do something special. It worked out so I was happy to do it.
