I though about doing that. The chips rest on top without it and I was afraid it might make it harder to put chips into the bottom rows. But maybe give it a shot?

I can get 45 on the bottom and 12 on top. Totally happy with 57 chip loads in this little 3L US.

Finally getting around to trying this! I got 2lb picture wire and should be able to get at least 40 chips in. Thanks for sharing a great idea!
