Can anyone suggest a good tool for designing chips? Seems like a lot of people use Illustrator but I don't have it. Will Photoshop or Gimp do the trick?

What's a good tool for designing chips? Seems like a lot of people are using Illustrator. Any other suggestions? Will Gimp do the job?

You can use whatever you are comfortable with. Illustrator is a sort of standard in the industry, but all the programs have the ability to export into the format that a manufacturer will need.

I've used PowerPoint and it worked.
