Too late to submit my last set of customs to HOF? (4 Viewers)

For those of you looking for some pics, @gopherblue is willing to oblige, and may have some for sale. If its not him, then he may be close enough to pick them up. The Images are definitely mine, so I cannot vouch if the ad is legit. I do not own the design, but I authorize use of my pics as people see fit. Ill let the mods decide how to handle it.

Holy shit.

What even is going on here?

So if you order 1100 chips for lets say 2,200 dollars, you only need 22 sample sets (110 extra chips) to break even on the entire order? Good god, the money that could be made is sickening.

Crazy cool set, although i'm not really sold on the inlay. But great job making a oversized tournament set. Solid markup for 6 chips:whistle: :whistling: hah

Lol. $17 to $20 per chip (depending on whether or not the 5000 chip is included).

Confused again, who actually owns this set? This had to set off red flags with GPI. All oversized small tournament set? LOL. People got Greedy with their sets....

It's clearly a troll post.
Great. So only 16.67 per chip. Doesn't change the math too much. 150 chips at 14.67 profit = $2200

25 sample sets covers a 1000 chip set.

I don't think you understand, so let me repeat this is a troll post. None of the GBers live in Brooklyn, and we all agreed to wait to post the pictures.

People got greedy..

If you were in line to have custom Paulson's, would you not pull out all stops? I recall discussions regarding the boat buys saying that there was concern about receiving THC and RHC mixed and it was tricky to ensure they got all THC without looking too knowledgeable.

While an all oversize set might seem outrageously cool to a PCFer, I doubt it would even be a blip on the radar for Paulson.

And anyone can specify any location they want on a craigslist ad.

Wouldn't be hard for someone who let's say lived in Westford, MA to pretend they're in Brooklyn, NY.

Gotta say I enjoy this slowrolling of the reveals. It makes it so exciting checking PCF on my way home from work. (and of course continuously most of my spare time)

As long as proper pictures will show up in the end, the suspense makes it kinda fun :D

What do you think alerted the higher ups to stop this venture?

Pure speculation on my part, but an influx of small orders with inlay that do not seem attached to a cardroom/casino, all from the same Paulson rep?

The oversized chips are certainly less common, but I think we at PCF recognize it instantly. Not sure Paulson would have the same level of scrutiny.

what do you consider a small set? How big is this set?
I have no clue. I’m not a smart man, I’m really not....just guessing a smaller sized order of all oversized chips may look suspicious. Sorta like in Goodfellas when Jimmy thought if people started flashing around their money it would ruin things.

I think this is very true. People at GPI dont talk in terms like THC, RHC 8V etc. It was always a question mark how far this would go, but it was also always about a truly custom set, not a group buy for the community.

It's tragic yet also laughable the vindictiveness ascribed by some ITT to people involved in this effort. Making dumbass assumptions like sets were bought to be flipped to the community or that they got greedy, secretive or whatever. Repeat: this was all cleared and above board with GPI. The rep approved the process and sets were made.

Also in the next wave, AT LEAST two sets were in line to be made that would be sold via a website at about $2/chip, hardly fleecing the community, and making semi-customs available to anyone. But some of you know-it-all assholes have killed any chances of those efforts continuing by insulting and casting aspersions on those who went to great lengths to find a legit GPI pipeline. So keep running your mouths. You seem to have all the answers.

As has been stated, nobody knows why GPI slammed the door. But likely the ownership change and reviewing of accounts/audit practices dropped the hammer on it.

Who knows what will become of the sets that were made. If owners want to sell them at $10/chip like star chips, that's up to them. Some of us sold beloved sets for a shot at custom Paulsons and ended up missing out. The effort isn't without risk.

They thought they were in the clear, risk might have been worth the reward. Who knows. They had a rep letting them do whatever. The smarter/safer option would have been to order a metric shit ton of 1 or 2 designs, but that wouldn't be nearly as fun or cool as having 12 custom sets made to whatever spec each person wants.

What of the chips were a wedding gift under my mother's name?

My inbox and texts just blew up in the last half hour or so, while I've been in a meeting. I had nothing to do with that CL ad whatsoever and I don't have those pictures, nor do I have any of the chips. I have known (or strongly suspected) the buy for some time, and have received pics of the chips, but have not posted them or discussed the buy publicly, other than what appears on this thread. I kept what I knew to myself. I would assume that my word on that should suffice, Scott, as you should know me well enough to know that. I expect an apology for the accusation.

I'm sure there is no possible way whatsoever that someone could create a CL ad with a location in Brooklyn unless they actually live in Brooklyn. Right?

I do, however, live in Brooklyn, so there is that.
