Thought exercise of the day: Semi Custom Paulson (1 Viewer)

What? A base price for hot-stamped chips, then an extra charge for having to actually stamp them? What next, an employee air consumption charge?
You haven't contacted Matsui yet. They charge 15% more (of the entire order) if you bought less than 500 chips of the same color.  And $0.35-0.5 extra for each chip for delivery... :wow:

I bet they could charge $10/chip. Lots of NAGB chips are already there.
True, though to give credit to the NAGB chips they were all designed as cohesive sets many utilizing complex and previously unavailable spot patterns. That said they are not "custom" they are firmly in the "fantasy" zone to me. That said I've seen some folks murder them to get to semi custom.

Since this popped up again, I still wonder about the ability for GPI to do textured inlays (do they still have the tools to do so?).

Man I'd definitely sell some sets and pay the price if I could get this as a tourney set:

Isn’t the texture on the inlay (or lack thereof) just the result of the mold used, just like anywhere else on the chip?

Yeah, and I think those textured cups are long-gone, since the introduction of the glossy plastic laminate (the smoothness of which is necessary for certain security features).

Please add a 43 mm option. I kind if feel the fantasy spot/colours are a little bland for me now due to overexposure but having them in 43mm would help.

I just thought of an adjacent question, if GPI made past "fantasy" set available would anybody buy them? Say CDI (original THC), FLV, WTHC/Private Cardroom, VLV, NPS, and Le Cove?

Yes to WTHC, NPS (if on a different mold), and le Cove (plus Capitol City and 20th Century). Even using unleaded materials for the last three.

Hard no on CdIC, FLV, VLV, and Classics. Can't stand the inlay designs, and the color/spot combos aren't that great, either.

There are some casinos that I would guess are grandfathered in for textured inlay reorders. There is a Horseshoe in Mississippi where the current $5 is textured. And I think an Iowa Horseshoe too. There are textured inlay still made, but they are rare.
