I almost always package my single racks + up to 1 additional barrel into a small flat rate priority box INSIDE a priority flat bubble mailer.

Very rarely will I send chips in a stand alone small flat rate priority box. Only when I’m out of bubble wrap mailers or when it’s not too important of a rack. And even so I tape it up heavily.

Ugh…this one was valuable at around $1000….

FWIW you can order the padded bubble mailers from USPS.com for delivery or you can just grab them from the PO. I always reorder when I hit 20 left just incase.

I just almost did something really stupid and lost many thousands of dollars.

I used a refunded PirateShip label accidentally (I made a new label but printed the old one by mistake).

USPS scanned the package and accepted it but tracking wasn’t showing. I went to my local USPS and they said it would likely make it but that the receiver would have to pay.

Receiver just got the chips and wasn’t required to pay anything.

Scariest hack ever??

I’ve had issues. I always use insurance.

This happened to me to a few months ago, but thankfully with a much smaller transaction. Whats even stranger is that i printed my label at the post office using a QR code.

Luckily the person who got them was really chill and reshipped them to the correct address.

I'm always happy to donate to charities, but I've already felt that GoFundMes for shipping losses between forum members were a bit of a stretch. Donating to a third-party charity because of a shipping issue feels like another step removed.

Me: "Yeah... a guy on a poker forum lost a package of chips he was mailing to another member."
Wife: ???

I do wish the charity well, and I hope it raises a lot. I just don't love the precedent of creating fundraising campaigns around transactions between forum members, even if the proceeds ultimately go elsewhere.

Interesting shipping thing I’ll add in regards to boxes, I always ship DHL express from Aus and they have stated to me that taping boxes with packing tape to make it more structurally sound and durable will no longer be acceptable.

No official word but my shipper has said it’s likely interfering with scanning systems throughout either the world or US DHL system.
It is now recommended double to triple bubble package the chips or double box the chips. Now I already do this with the tape but the tape is a no go with DHL international apparently now.

I can only imagine the extreme amounts of packages to USPS system must handle and time handle each package minimal, so I’d have to guess they’d be handled very roughly.

Sorry about the lost package Craig, does make ya wonder what ultimately happens to these “lost” packages.
