are thepokerstore & pokerchipmania reliable sites? looking to buy some monaco club chips and those are the only 2 sites who have them right now, apaches out of stock

The poker store has been good to be before, but I only get cards and those card guards from them. Never got chips

If you need cards, check out the Classics from The Poker Store. They are made in China and they have a really good feel. Easy to shuffle with a little bit of texture.

I'll let others speak about Poker Chip Mania. I had a couple good dealings with thepokerstore.com. Fast shipping, quick responses to email. Discount Poker Shop is also good.

heard a lot of good stuff about discount poker shop, unfortunately they do not have the Monaco clubs. will buy from thepokerstore, was thinking of buying from pokerchipmania because the prices were extremely low, just found out they charge you 45 dollars just for shipping LOL. will go with thepokerstore

I have purchased Monte Carlo Smooth, and Turbo ceramic chips as well as a bunch of samples and some ceramic chip racks back before I found the @justincarothers racks. I also picked up some cut cards and hand ranking cards. Always had great service from ThePokerStore.com!!!

@doom, just from my experience, the Monaco Club (same chips as Showdowns and Poker Knights, but with different labels), are probably my least favorite of all the inexpensive chips out there. Hard, slippery, and rough edges from flashing. On top of that, the colors are drab, and it gets hard to tell one denomination from the other. YMMV, but get samples.

Are you buying a tourney set, or cash set? if cash, what stakes?

As far as the inexpensive plastic chips go, my favorites are from discountpokershop.com. Crown Casino are great, and Monaco Casino or Lucky Horseshoe are close behind. They’ll run you about 20¢/chip, and you can order them in quantities to fit your needs.

I hear the Casino Royale and Monte Carlos are decent as well, but no personal experience with them.

Next step up in price are Tina ceramics or China clays.

You can run a 10-person tourney with as few as 300 chips.
