The Watch Thread (2 Viewers)

Alright...I might be off my rocker, but I'm blaming it on @DirtyTIVA . (:

I've been in search of the ULTIMATE watch strap for a couple of my watches, but I've been left than 100% satisfied. So...my solution is to make my own.

I will let you know how it ends...but here's the beginning. :cool

This one!

Wtf. Did you procure that many pelts(?)(hides?) to make watch straps yourself? FYI crocodile is very stiff and dry (like unoiled CPC). I would stick with alligator. JR’s have calf backing and I prefer thin vs that hump in the middle. Can’t wait to see how they turn out!
And a couple more on the way...LOL!! Everything was pretty reasonable, so it gives me a ton of pelts to practice on. I will let you know how it all ends. (:

I've bought my first automatic watch and my jewellery shall receive it soon.

I decided to pick a Japanese one instead of a Swiss one. I picked a Seiko Presage "Japanese Garden".

I've also ordered the steel wristband as I wanted to be able to swap with the leather one.

After going back and forth I've setup the leather one and I don't think I'll use the steel one for anything else than temporary replacement in case I need to replace the leather one.

Leather is definitely lighter in my opinion and I feel more suited to my wrist.

Two reps I picked up for travel purposes. I actually like them more than I expected to. Still wear my 1981Gen Day-Date for special occasions, but these 2 definitely get their fair share of wear on the daily!

Two watches scratching each other triggers me 😂

Leather always looks better on a dress watch…part of what makes it a proper dress watch.

A few years after I bought my IWC Portugueser 40 they offered it on a bracelet. At first I was upset as I always buy watches on a bracelet even if I plan to mostly wear them on a strap. But for this watch I realized there is never a time I would do that.

They are here. I ordered a couple of straps from an eBay seller from Korea. I was skeptical due to the price, $40 each, but I gotta admit, I am VERY happy with the straps!!

Communication was fantastic; the measurements are perfect; and they were made and arrived pretty quick. I finalized the purchase on Jan 24th and they arrived yesterday. I will let you know if they hold up or fall apart.

Very cool, like that a lot.

Recently upgraded some straps myself, with more on the way of course

Whoa. Save a scrap for me. I wanna make a wallet or cash holder

Question for watch people. I just snagged a watch with a GMT function and was hoping to use it to track India time when stateside and central time when in India. India is either 10 1/2 or 11 1/2 hours off from Texas depending on daylight savings and I forget which way. It’s an odd 30 minutes though. Here’s question. GMT watch I have sets the hour hand separately but it clicks a full hour at a time. Is there a way to do a half hour?

Usually I buy $20 thrift store watches and run them until they break or whatever.

Found this mama-jama at Value world for around a hundo. Pretty classy for your boy, I know. I won’t wear it painting.

Best part it’s small enough to fit on my skeleton wrists. A lot of watches look weird on my wrists cuz there huge.

Unfortunately probably not if it is jumping the hours. What's the watch and/or movement and we can confirm either way.

Dang that is spectacular! Congrats! I've always enjoyed their fun designs but this might be the best looking one yet
Thanks!! I've been stalking the aftermarket and nearly pulled the trigger on a couple of versions. I will likely pick up a 1s to go with this. Heck....my dumb ass will probably chase every version available at some point...LOL!!
