Hi all,

I’m hoping to get some perspective from the community on a piece I own.

This is a 1982 World Series of Poker gold watch engraved to David Sklansky. I acquired it directly from him about two years ago.

As I understand it, 1982 was the only year WSOP issued watches instead of bracelets.

The outer engraving reads:
“David – 1982 World Series of Poker”

Inside it is engraved:
“David Sklansky – Mix Doubles – Seven Card High – World Championship”

The caseback is marked “Binion’s Horseshoe” and “14K,” and the total weight is approximately 2.15 oz. The watch is a Baume & Mercier with the original integrated gold bracelet.

It is not currently running, but appears complete and original.

Given Sklansky’s recent passing and the unusual nature of the 1982 issue, I’m trying to better understand how these are viewed from a collector standpoint.

This is a very cool item that would have done way better just a few years ago1

Welcome @heritageitems welcome to PCF! Stick around I think you may find some hidden gems here. Do you work for Heritage Auctions?

No, I don't work for Heritage Auctions. I'm a poker player with a personal connection to David Sklansky and that's how I have one of his bracelets.
