THE PRESTIGE GROUP BUY (GB COMPLETE) (2 Viewers)

The timing is not good for me on this group buy but I am encouraged by this opportunity. As with any chip buying opportunity, I can only plan on not buying these but it is not official until the GB closes as I am a chip degenerate as well and this opportunity is awesome. As an owner of these chips (I bought Union Station blanks) I think they are the best non-clay chip out there and that has to do with the value as well as quality and customization options. You seem like a great company to deal with and willing to gather feedback from PCF so I appreciate that. Now that you have teamed up with a PCF designer it seems that this can only expand future opportunities. I am hopeful that any future semi-custom designs will continue to be offered to PCF in the future and that you continue to push the boundaries of standard chip making for this little market that we all enjoy here. Just wanted to say thanks and that your efforts are appreciated.

Thank you so much for saying this. It means a lot to our team who works for this GB.

When I first joined this community back in April, I was quite surprised that you guys know so much about us while I don't really know any of you. This is exactly the 'trigger' for me to decide to offer the lowest price possible for our first GB as well as offering the semi-custom option with no additional charge. Although the sales number has not reach up to our expectation, and it is likely to cause losses due to the crazy shipping cost, we'll still stick to our promise to ship out the PRESTIGE orders to every buyer.

Our team has done a lot of 'behind the scene' works in order to make sure that this GB doesn't go south, I'm not going to unfold the sotries here because I think this is a learning process for us to fit in this community - afterall, we are from a different nation with different culture and language, I believe what links us together is the mutual hobby or passion with the chips.

So yes, future semi-custom designs will continue to be offered, no worries at all. I'm also planning and working on some other projects that will soon be available to PCF.

Thanks again for your message,

John

Good eye, and good call.

@SUN-FLY Poker Chips @p5woody -- can we get this change included as the standard artwork? It's much more aligned with the how the shield coloring is addressed on the rest of the chips.
From our side, in terms of production of the ongoing GB, the difficulty of doing so is the approved orders, which we have already made production schedule. One particular order has been sent out already.

In terms of the art design itself, I don't mind help changing the color of the shield for the upcoming orders before the closing date of this GB.

Eventually the PRESTIGE set will be available on our website as a standard set, I'll leave the decision for its creator @p5woody to decide.

PS: I know our online shopping website looks crap right now, we've built a new one already but due to the vast changing shipping cost, this project was suspended. It will be launched when the situation gets better.
It is a little late in the game to be making this change, since proofs have already been approved and it would require rework from Sun-Fly. I don't really have a preference one way or the the other. If Sun-Fly is willing to make the change, you can work with them. As far as once they are added to the website, Sun-Fly can decide which version they want to offer.

Sunfly revised the Black Dealer Buttons with a Black Shield for me. I thought this would add more contrast to the Black vs White Dealer Buttons.

John, I'd like to include the black shield on the black polyinno and black polychrom dealer buttons in my order (118 buttons total, one-half being black).

From a set continuity perspective, I'd advise that you also include the changes on all subsequently-produced black buttons, but that's entirely up to you.

I'm going to place an order for 400 chips. No room for dealer buttons.
Would anyone be willing to order a couple extra dealer buttons for me? One each of the PolyInno's preferably, but just one would even be great!

I am in the same boat, not sure I want to breach the next level box.

The collector/sample sets come with four dealer buttons.

@SUN-FLY Poker Chips or @p5woody
Are there plans to eventually sell Union Station chips on the sunfly website? Or perhaps the Boardwalk chips?
I can't participate in the group buy right now :( otherwise I'd be joining in on the great opportunity.
Thanks for doing this nonetheless!!

Hi the Boardwalk Chips will never be offered as a GB again. I wish they would because I would be all over them. Since you are newer to the site and may not know the story the Boardwalk chips were too close to the chips of a Casino for their liking. So the one Group Buy happened and it will never be able to happen again at least from Sunfly.

Well that's unfortunate lol.....

good to hear, let me know when ur ready to order.
Order submitted to the email in the original post. Thanks!

There aren't many opportunities for us to work so openly with a casino chip manufacturer, and even fewer actually reach out to us to work with the community to develop products with wide appeal at a very affordable price. It's something this community has wanted for a long time. I was a bit disappointed to read that the sales numbers weren't quite what you were aiming for, but I do hope this is just the beginning of a very fruitful relationship for both Sun-Fly and the folks here.

Come on folks, throw your orders in.:)

I'm very new to the community, so I can only speak for myself. I came very close to placing an order, due mainly to the semi-customization option. But ultimately I only bought a sample set, not because the design of these chip isn't beautiful, (it is!) but because it's just not a style I'm used to yet. I still have a strong preference for a chip that looks more like a traditional clay chip, with brighter colors and edge spots. And I didn't care for the glossy edge on these chips. But hey, once I get my samples in hand, I may very well regret not having placed an order.

On the other hand, should there be a future Sun-Fly GB with a design that's more standard looking, and with a matte rolling edge, or even using Sun-Fly's Polyclay chip with a mold, I'm sure I will be all over it! And I suspect others that didn't participate in this one will too!

I do know that the interest here has been strong, so hopefully all who are still on the fence will flood you with orders during this last week of the GB. Good luck!

I can understand many of your points. For me, I think a huge factor in being able to place an order was having the Union Station samples in-hand for months. I really liked them. Yes, I love Paulsons the best (especially harvested ones), but I think the semi-customization plus the zero maintenance of ceramics allowed me to pull the trigger.

@SUN-FLY Poker Chips - something to consider in the future is offering a quick "sample set purchase" of a particular line of chips (say Polyclay) before the group buy so that the members here can have them in-hand to see if they like them. Buying chips without holding them is like buying furniture without sitting on it.

Think you are pretty spot on with the above assessment. Got a couple players who like the design as they find it cutting and fresh, I am certainly more on the fence. Really like the color pallette. Still planning on ordering because the chips themselves are fantastic, and the price is great. Just not geeked about it like some of the sets that are floating around.

I would second having sample chips on your site you could purchase. It doesn't have to be samples of the exact chips you are offering in a group buy, but a sample of different POLYINNO or POLYCHROM chips with a wide variety of colors. Maybe like a 10 chip sample. That way people can know what the chips feel like.

I generally agree that samples are great, but keep in mind that shipping a sample set from China might make their total cost unreasonable.

That said, if there's an authorized reseller of product here in the states that uses the same ceramic blanks, a link to a more local reseller for sample sets would certainly be in order.

@SUN-FLY Poker Chips - I am a huge fan of your chips and plan on placing a fully custom order as soon as I can get into @p5woody 's graphic design queue. Part of the reason that I love your chips is that I was able to get a sample of them from this community.

I believe a large part of why the numbers may not be meeting expectations at this point is how many people have NOT handle or seen your chips in the United States. Obviously shipping is a large part of this, but I also found it very difficult to find a way to find something as small as a sample set available on your site. It was through the kindness of others on this forum (@BGinGA , @yone in my case) that I was able to procure them, and when I did I was guaranteed as a buyer of your product.

IF it was possible to set up a long-term way in the United States in which to purchase sample sets of your 39mm and 43mm chips, I can almost promise you that you'd see an uptick in purchases in both the short and long term. @BGinGA is obviously set up for a 43mm sample set for this particular group buy, but if there was a better way for the public to gain access to your 39mm and 43mm chips in general on a regular basis, then you will reap the rewards.

Yes, that's why having a single pre-GB sale which is done in the same way (single proxy in the US reships) might help get chips into people's hands before the GB.

Maybe they can use one of Pcfers on here who is a vendor to keep a stock of samples and sell them. One in US, one in Canada, and one in Europe.

This is something that I'm working on and will start a new thread about more details after this GB. Thanks for sharing the thoughts.

Agreed. I've already offered @SUN-FLY Poker Chips to be a reseller/reshipper in Europe, this would of course work as well (or even better/easier) for samples.

Hi Matija, thank you for your offer and very cool Lego creation by the way. I know your conversation with Dan, I haven't been able to respond you because I'm very occupied right now not only for this GB but also for some other new projects that I'm involved in. I haven't really got time to think and plan for our next move at this moment. However I'll keep in mind and I assure you that I'll be contacting you once we made progress on deciding our future marketing direction for the home makret of poker chips.

Working on my order...feedback welcome.
Zymurgy: Study of fermentation science
The design reminds me of spinning liquid in a pint glass with bubbles behind the swirls.

Blue or Turquoise? Having a hard time deciding.
Does the Z at the beginning of the word Zymurgy look weird?
Like Zymurgy or weird? Just get Prestige?

I went back and forth between blue and turquoise. Eventually I landed in the blue because the turquoise looked a little too washed out in the photos and I wanted the more saturated blue. Your colors are almost identical to mine.

I think the ZYMURGY looks fine, and if it means something to you, then go for it. But if you're not a fermentation scientist, then you might get bored constantly explaining it.
