In the beginning… There were circles. These so called “Boat Chip few” were cloaked in darkness, covered in myth & legend. A secret society it had become. A secret so lost, it seemed impossible to gain any real knowledge of their travels or tales from the past. One would have to turn back the hands of time to get a glimpse into this, what some would call, Poker Chip Underworld.
In my travels through the land of Pecyeif, I would hear chatters and whispers of such a society. I’d take journeys in search of a lost land others refereed to as - chipptawlk… In time I had discovered some truth, I had learned the names of these fabled immortals, these…. Men. They had been erased from the old text, as if they’d been too much for the world to consume. What they had done started wars amongst tribes and created all consuming divides.
After all, they had created chips from pure ambrosia, colors that Zeus himself could not touch. The discs were said to be pressed in darkest of black holes, and the clay from the furthest and brightest stars in all the galaxy.
Eventually, these god like men became a storytellers muse, but the remnants of their creations had remained. They are bought and sold at costs only a king can fathom. Yet every so often a commoner will possess the gift, however rare this is, possible.
These chips float among us, stirring controversy and religions. Debates and debacles. Giving breath to cool gasps of adornment for some, and lighting fire born tongues of hatred from others.
Alas, some of the gifts created for us all…
- One set was left as an ode to the game we play. The circus of life if you will. Some would say this great show on the felt gave us all laughter and smiles, building friendships with a simple glance. It is the great giver to many… A father chip if you will. Inspiring us all…
- The Royal Princess herself dances among us. Giving those who gaze upon her glory, rainbows of hope. Hope that chipping nirvana can be achieved. Hope that stars and galaxies can connect us all. In her bright whirlwind of sparks and flares, lofty goals are set. She will change you forever.
- The animal beast of them all, one of the rarest to behold. The Yardbirds Castle, known affectionately as the Chicken Coop. This set will surely light your insides on fire. It gives you insatiable hunger for more chicken chips, as if your hunger can never be tamed. The poultry passion you get from merely peeking at them is enough to cause harm to your health. It is by far the gluttonous set of them all. Tread softly with this one, or you’ll get plucked…
- Finally we are given two Stars from the Empress of Aurora herself. These stars alone give so much. It is said by the ancients that merely touching them gives one peace. The kind a young child feels in its mothers bosom. Legend speaks that if you follow these stars, they will lead you to the Empress mother herself… Within her, you will find this peace…
These wonderful gifts bestowed by the years before, have given way to a new breed of chip from the common man. A man without the godly path to the lord Paul & his Son. A man with his own desires and needs.
I will take the old gifts from the gods and forge my own! An ode to them all!
