So as I'm mocking up my inlay for the $100 add on to the Beach set, I mocked it up in the same gradient fashion as the rest. But then I started playing around with the idea of a big bang inlay for the big chip in the set, and I started questioning myself.

Do I stick with the white inlay to match the rest of the set? Does this sunset look too out of place? Do I go off the grid and do a different color $100 chip?

I'm a sucker for the "norm" when it comes to chips - I enjoy standard base colors (these are Cali standard, obviously), no non-casino spots, etc, so I'm struggling on bailing on the white chip.

I have like 2.5 days to finalize the artwork, so...help me out here peeps...

Second row too!!!!

All of the other chips have a nice color for the sunset, pull from the edgespot for sure. It looks awesome!

So sounds like the sunset inlay with a white chip is fine as a standalone, but I can't help feel like it's a bit out of place. @TheBigTater it sounds like you and I have the same sentiments as far as continuity.

Does this edgespot make it feel more cohesive to everyone?

Yeah, it would bug my OCD to have one different type of inlay than the rest of the set but they ain't my chips, go with what you want. :)

If going with the sunset inlay then the (any combo of orange/dk red/purple) edge spot colors would work better than the flag chip colors for sure. I do think you should stick with the white base for the Cali $100 though.

I like the latest $100 chip design, but I did not initially realize that the label is a bit different. I'm with @TheBigTater, my OCD would be tweaked with that label. Not the colors, since they are all different colors, but the orientation of denomination and The Beach should match the other chips. Just my $0.02.

Ah yeah it's going to be the same orientation and all, the only thing that would be different is the background gradient. Those first 4 were loaded into the design tool from just phone crops of the actual chips, while the $100 up there now is the actual digital artwork :)

Well then, it's an awesome chip. The gradient I think looks fine. I see how it's different from the others, but I think it works. If you are worried about it, then tweak the others a bit so there is not a 'standard' gradient. Toss some pink in the $1, some green in the $20. Makes them all a bit more colorful and removes the one possible standout chip.

Ah would do, but these puppies were already made about 10 years ago...https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/the-beach-asm-now-cpc.21361/#post-394996

Does this edgespot make it feel more cohesive?

I think the black $20 is what may look a little out of place with the new $100 and the rest of the chips having nice bright colors. Using a deep purple would have really tied them all together.

Have Gear make a matching color gradient label for the $20 only. Replacing the label on old ASM chips is easy.

Or leave it be, it works well enough.

Looks great. Good choice! :)
I am also interested in a sample set if they are available.

Working on the high upper fade, and trying to normalize the sunset color palette to the rest of the set.

Thanks! I will post a samples interest thread at some point today. This add-on will likely be limited to the $5 and $100 only.

Or just order some secondary $20s, I think there are only 40 with the original set.

Perfect chance for a run of secondaries.

Keen eye

Probably upping it to 80/20 for the upper denom rack on this one (y)
If you are going to get more $20s surely secondaries is the best option. I expect those colours will be very different to the ASM colours.

I also prefer the paler inlay.
