I ordered secondary high-denomination chips for my Arizona Club set as I have suspected the current one might cause some dirty stack issues. They were in play last year at RIA-II and while there weren't any terrible problems, my suspicions were confirmed seeing them in play and in photos.
The secondary $20 is all set (imperial blue and DG green) and I decided on a white $100 to help it stand out against the rest of the set. When I started mocking up the inlays, I worried the white background (even with the subtle lizard "watermark") might not work too well. I mocked up a version with a black inlay background, like the commemorative $1s I had made, and keep looking at them and just can't quite decide.
I have a favorite, and that might very well be the one I use despite this poll and thread, but I'm curious what the group thinks here.
All of the other chips in the set have white backgrounds other than the anniversary chips. I've seen old-school chips that use a black background inlay in a white chip when the rest of the set are in white (I'm looking at you Sunflower from Reno) so this wouldn't be completely out of line.
Do I go with the white background to match the rest of the set despite being on a white chip or black background for maximum contrast?
The mockups.
The rest of the set, minus the black background anniversary $1s.
