The 6 month journey building my large mixed cash set... (lots of pr0n!!) - new addition, new updates (1 Viewer)

owner tilt, not player tilt :D
I definitely have some OCD when it comes to chipping. Having PCA represent two denominations was killing me. But surprisingly, having the two lower denominations on the RHC mold and the 3 higher denominations on the THC mold doesn't bother me. Sure, I'll continue the search, but if I were going to go all RHC or all THC, THC would win out for me. I don't think I can break up the $5 / $25 / $100 combo at this point.

The problem/challenge is, the choices for a Paulson THC spotted inlay frac are VERY VERY limited right? We're talking Outpost quarters which never go up for sale in excellent+ condition (besides @Weckedy 's recent rack), and maybe Harah's or Players Club which I've never seen for sale either (and frankly I don't like as much as the Blue Chip quarters). Other than that, I'd have to go the hot stamp route and at this point, I prefer spotted inlay fracs. I haven't been bitten by the hot stamp bug yet. I feel like I'd have to solve the problem with the fracs first, before I could tackle the $1's, because the fracs would drive whether I would have to stay with a white $1 or if I could transition to a blue $1 which would open up the THC options a bit more. See how complicated this gets. The problems of a chipper with OCD.

Look closer...... those $25 chips are RHC, too. Just sayin'..... :)

Wow. I can't believe I didn't notice that until now. Blinded by the colors I guess. Hmmm. I'll need to give next steps some thought then. To be continued...

The Terrible's have returned home!

After much thought, I've come to the realization that the mix of RHC and THC molds doesn't bother me a bit. But what did bother me was that two denominations were represented by PCA ($1's & $25's). To solve for that, I was able to bring the Terrible's St. Jo $1's back for the 2nd time with some help from @slisk250.

(The PCA $1's are being moved to a limit set.)

At this point, the only combination that I haven't tried with the chips that have passed through my hands is combining either the Mark Twain $25's or Aztar MO $25's with these Terrible's. I'm on the search for one of these two racks of $25's for my limit set anyways, so we'll see what looks best.

UPDATE 9/21 - I finally had a chance to take some pics of what I believe to be the final version of this set. I'm extremely pleased with how it turned out. I love each individual denomination and this represents my ideal breakdown for a $0.25/$0.50 NL cash game. The journey has been fun and I'm ready to move onto the next project. TRK is calling...

(Again, many many thanks to all of the PCF members that made this happen. All of these chips came from within the community, no eBay).

Nice! Congrats on the "completion" of the set. That $25 is one of my favorites ever, and I love the Casa $5. That was the fiver i went with for my mixed set as well.

Calling collect, you mean, because you're going to pay dearly for the privilege if you want a mint set. Nonetheless, good luck!

Sweet set, they look great together.

Hope I don't monkey-tilt your OCD when I casually mention that the next level of set building is not only using the same mold, but also having all denominations use the same color (all red, all black, etc.). You are on the right road to redemption, however. (y):sneaky:
