Why do you like PCF?

Tell us why and I’ll enter you into a random drawing for a supporting membership, paid by me. I’ll run this through the end of the month.

Already a supporting member? Great! If you win I’ll take care of your recent or next renewal.

Not a supporting member yet but you’d like to be? Sign up before the end of the giveaway to be entered into an additional, separate drawing for a mystery chipper box. Chips, sample set(s), button(s), cards, etc. I’ll add more as the entrants grow! Sign up here (mods, correct me if there is another place to sign up)
https://www.pokerchipforum.com/account/upgrades
P.s. Renewals do not count for the second drawing but I encourage it, nevertheless.

With that being said, I’ll kick us off. PCF has fostered and enabled a chip sickness in me. I was welcomed into a community where I’ve made many friends. What isn’t there to like (other than the perpetual drain on my paypal account  :ROFLMAO:)? There is a lot left to say but I’d like to hear from y’all!

Why do I like PCF? Something to do on the toilet obviously !

But really, it's not just the addiction of the hunt or holding a mint rack of leaded THC chips with colors the make you squint. It's all the members who make this place great and want to help others succeed in this hobby as much, if not more, than themselves. That and the comical stylings of @Josh Kifer of course.

Tip of the hat, good sir.

Why do I like PCF?

The chips? No, well yes! But really the people. I have met amazing people through this forum. People that have become lifetime friends, or close like family. I would be sad if I had to sell all my chips, but I would be devastated by losing my friends here!

I LOVE Pcf for the friends I've made. They will extend well beyond poker. Not much more can be better than that. The chips are all secondary!

EDIT : Coincidentally, my membership expired today:ROFL: :ROFLMAO:

DOUBLE EDIT : I've renewed my membership:tup:

I first hit this site in 2018ish as a lurker without an account to dive into the poker strategy discussions, which I always finds interesting. But I then moved around to all the glorious chip pr0n threads starting last summerish before finally coming out of the weeds to make an account this past April.

This site is filled with so many knowledgeable people. I remember when I lurked without an account, I always found @BGinGA's posts on tournaments, tourney chip stacks and chip history highly insightful. More importantly, PCF is full of genuine friendly people willing to help out with questions either in open threads or PMs. I mean, @allforcharity's willingness to send out chip samples across two countries is above and beyond. The laughs are essentially non-stop, too. You can’t help but actually bust out laughing at the desk whenever you run across a thread of @Josh Kifer discussing or joking the murdering of chips. All of this, man, you don’t find it at a lot of forums, regardless of subject matter.

The PFC community is so strong that members travel hundreds or thousands of miles to meet up and play poker with their respective chip sets. I absolutely love that and hope to join the meet-up fray one of these days. The pictures of home games are a blast to view.

Now, outside of chips, PCF taught me two valuable life poker lessons: I was doing my poker tables wrong, which was recently rectified, and no home game is complete without a hot dog roller.

By the way and this is just my opinion, the glorious Hot Dog Roller Pr0n thread by itself is reason enough to become a supporting member! Hell, that thread resulted in me become a supporting member shortly after I bought my Olde Midway. I would've never thought about a roller for my home games if not for PCF. Boom.

You guys and gals of this wonderful forum simply rock.

I just love this community. Met some great people in person and look forward to meeting more (fuck you COVID19). And where else can I come and geek out about poker chips. You guys are my peeps. My home game buddies, my friends, my family, basically any body who is not a member is here, just doesn't understand. I'm just that crazy person who spends way too much and has way Way WAY too many poker chips when you can just go to Target and get a great set ( dice chips ) in a really cool metal case. The outsiders will never understand. It's warm and cozy here.

And apparently I really hate money and this place is a great place for me to dispose of it.

In general, I have met people who want to help. Help with advice, help with collecting, help with charity. This could easily be a niche eBay/market site but its not even close to that. When I first arrived people wanted to not just sell me chips and move on but they wanted to hear about my project and how they could help. I still haven't met anyone in person but I cant wait to be able to include meet up games as part of why I love the site and of course the giveaways like you're doing here :)

Oh and I kept thinking about becoming a supporting member so why not do it now. Here is to a great year and your newest supporting member!

Everyone's going to say, "The people!" Lol, yes, all the great people here are great, sure.

A more honest answer, I like PCF because it feeds me in a number of ways. I wrote a lot more, but cut it short. Synopsis: The people here create a social support structure, PCF is informative well beyond chips, and there's something for everyone here. Personally, it pushes me out of my comfort zone and opens me to ideas I wasn't previously focused on - continued education, greater interest in long term financial planning, owning a large animal for children's experiences, new ways of providing charity, etc.

Besides, I couldn't release Meetup Barrie if I never found PCF!!! (Meetup Barrie below)

For me, this giveaway is the textbook example! You’re literally going out of your way, spending your own time and money, to make new or less active members feel included and help them grow as part of the community! And you’re far, far from alone! Just so very different than so many other forums where the top posters act like a Petty High School Click!

I literally became a Supporting Member yesterday so I don’t know which category you want to list me in lol...I more just wanted to add the above to the thread!!

This place has led me to create my own custom set from CPC, I've gotten my table built by @T_Chan and it has let me learn and create a home game that is imo the best legal game in my city.

Mixed game night, short deck night, flip tournaments, potluck games, hot dog rollers, @desjgn 's cards, custom tournament plaques, mixed game plaques,

Without this place I'm probably playing with dice chips and paper cards

It's the members because it's the members that create the content that makes this a great place to pass the time. A certain other site that created paid memberships completely forgot that fact.

Cheers everyone.

There are so many helpful members here. This place is an incredible resource for breakdowns, blind schedules, table design, chip design, you name it. The vendors are great and it is so nice that the classifieds allow people to sell chips without having to pay fees.

Where else can I show off my chips? :ROFLMAO: The marketplace is great and the knowledge in the forums is deep.

edit: the pr0n!

Because of PCF, I have grown the community of people that I can play cards with. I also have better chips because of it! (and less $ in my bank account)

I like the history behind the sets seen here. It's been a great resource for information! Shoot, if it weren't for PCF I would probably be playing with "Official casino-weighted clay" chips. I am glad I came across PCF before I was about to pull the trigger on the "upgrade" lol.

PS - Signed up for membership just yesterday.

Who do I like PCF?

So many good aspects!

I came here looking to build one cash set, but then was introduced to the extensive world of chipping. The manufacturers, materials, designs, history, etc is fascinating.

I love reading the strategy and stories that people experience too and I believe the analysis has improved my game.

I saw people met other people for games and meetups and thought that it was a crazy thing to meet up with all of these strangers across the internet. Since, I’ve met and become friends with so many local chippers, I even text with them daily.

I’ve connected with so many other great people on this forum that I truly call friends and will eventually meet them in person.

What a great community.
