I’ve done 8/13/5 and 12/17/6, but at any rate, I can do with 8 25’s, but I definitely prefer more 100’s.
I’ve scrapped the T25s altogether in the CPC set I have on order and went with more hundos. Also minimised the T500s. Risky!!

Whatever you can afford. Sometimes those extra chips to cover multiple tables aren't available (or not easily), and you have to split them up as you can. 12/12 for two tables can be modified to 8/8 for that third table if you really need.

Voted 12/12/5/6/2, but I always go with 20/20/5/15 :cool works like a charm!

My new set will be a T50k tourney with a T100 base chip. Starting stacks of 20/4/11/7.
Since you have 20 T100 I think you good with the T500.

With my last set I did 8/13/3/... or 12/17/[2 or 4]/... depending on the # of players, which worked well. I agree that you ideally need more T100 than T25.

I was always a 12/12/x/x guy, being the only chipper in my group, and hosting the majority of the time, I always controlled the starting stacks. I would be concerned about balancing things like set efficiency and game play, but I do realize no one else in my group gave a shit about these things. Recently my group wanted to play a deep stack game and I wanted to use a new set of Sun-Fly Prestige chips I just got. The issue was this set was not built for this type of game. The only way I could get it to work was to use a sub optimal starting stack 8/8/8/5/3. This starting stack violates a few rules I hold true, so I was extremely hesitant to even try it. Turns out it was a non issue, the game went fine and no one even mentioned or noticed anything. The only caveat is that this group has been around the block quite a few times, most of us have been playing tourney poker together for 2o years, so they know how to bet with the chips in front of them. No one is betting 175 with 7 25's. It's not like I would recommend such a setup but I think if your group is seasoned you can get away with sub optimal or non standard starting stacks in a pinch and not have it make a big difference in game play or the overall experience. Just my 2c.

This might tilt everyone, but I’ve gone 12/12/7/5 because I like the symmetry of 12 chips per stack.

Waaaaay too many 500s tho unless you color up some when you color out the 100s. It’s fine having more 500s early, but by the time I’m coloring out black, the field is half the size and we can get rid of half the nickels.

Also how do you like the Milanos? They might become my cash set.
Sorry, I missed your question.

I like them! They have a more dull (edit: as in less clanky. This is something positive!) sound when shuffling than others in that price range, the colors pop after oiling, I like the design, I was lucky enough that they all had the same width, i.e. all stacks have the same height (which is in no way guaranteed). They're no Paulsons, but they'll do. :)

The pink $5000 are very pale, so I use relabeled pink 43 Royals instead.

The peach 10k and blue $10 are nice too, if you care to relabel.

My Milano nickels are relabeled 10Ks, and I love them!

Here’s a few photos of my old set. The green and black chips smelled of burnt plastic. The other chips were fine. The 5k and 10k chips were the brightest. The 1k is really washed out looking.
