I'd say get in line, but i have a feeling you've been in that line for a while.

Whoa. I already knew this history, but for those of you who didn't know: TRK produced a LOT of rigged stuff in the bad old days. Marked cards, shaved/weighted dice, gaffed roulette wheels. It was one of the reasons they had some trouble getting more marketshare in the regulated casino business.
Must say from the pictures it looks like a really nice piece of history. Not it!
So I wanna start a small set of them. I see the premade Spinettis premade Nevada club and Becks sets. That the easiest direction to get some 1s and 5s without breaking the bank? Like the Nevada club ones... But prefer the Becks fives... Really love the Pick Hobson 5s, but can't be burning 300-400 a rack. Any ideas gentlemen?
I noticed after I purchased my 1s that they raised the price on the better 1s to $3.My one suggestion, from my experience a few months ago...
When you feel the well used 1s and 5's in the packaged unit of Neveda Lodges as compared to the better 1's and new 5's that Spinette's sells you will go with the better used 1's and new 5's. It cost me alot but I love them. Thinking of expanding already.
I'm going TRK when that playable set of Kings Castles goes on the market. I'm going to tell my wife we need to sell a car if necessary, but I'm getting them!

Definitely a nice edition for a TRK collector.
Hats off and congrats to the winner.
At the risk of pitchforks from most of the posters in this thread, I am going to take the contrarian view and tell you to hold off. Right now, it seems like TRK hysteria and prices are at an all time high, and supply at an all time low. Up until a few years ago, all of these chips were just sitting in inventory at Spinnettis. It wasn't until the Paulson home chip prices were driven up to the $2-3 dollar range, that some people wisely realized they could build TRK sets at that price, and started clearing out the inventory.
I would suggest if you haven't done so already, you should purchase a barrell of the cheapest S-crowns you can find. Put on a blindfold and handle them next to some Paulsons, BCCs and CPC. If handling the TRK chips brings you to the orgasmic levels that some people describe, then start thinking about building your set. Personally, I don't have that experience with TRKs. Do they feel different - Absolutely! They are slightly smaller, smoother, softer and make a different sound when shuffled. Do I prefer them over paulsons, not necessarily.
I do prefer Paulsons over CPC chips, but would I choose a mixed paulson set with a starburst frac, Cleveland $1 and CDI $5 over a beautiful well orchestrated CPC set, just because they are Paulson - Fuck No!
Don't get me wrong, there are some TRK sets out there that might be worth a kidney. The color palette is spectacular and the spots are amazing. If you really dig the Granny chips, or if you dig their history, then go for it, but don't do it just because they are the only TRK chips that you can afford right now. They may not live up to the hype.
Hysteria might be a strong word, plus i'd spell Contrarian with a U in this case also,![]()

All absolutely true and fair points. But without disagreeing with any of this, I will note that a used set of TRKs can be had at a fairly reasonable price, at basically a buck a chip. But I do agree--don't buy it just because it is available and TRKs. Buy it if it speaks to you and it is what you want.At the risk of pitchforks from most of the posters in this thread, I am going to take the contrarian view and tell you to hold off. and you can always flip her over if seriously tilted.
Still waiting for some mint grannies to come to market. I love grannyPersonally, I have little regard for the heavily-used Jesse Beck Riverside chips. Like worn out casino Paulsons, they just don't appeal to me from an aesthetic or tactile perspective. I can appreciate the history, but have no desire to own or play with heavily worn chips (of any brand).
However, my mint racks of Jessie Beck Riverside quarter-pie $1 and colorful $5 chips rank among my favorite casino TRKs. Granny's mug is not so bad, and you can always flip her over if seriously tilted.![]()
Shhhhh...we have to pretend like we love granny so we don't get banned from the potential buyer list if/when the mints come to market.I love the colors of the JB chips. I love the reverse side of the chip. It would definitely bother me to have an old lady's mug on my chips. I agree with @BGinGA . The ones and fives are fantastic.
